Anyone hear of H-town's Joseph Kahn - music video director?

Kahn has directing some major music videos. I ran across his site, read his bio and found out he's from H-town. Anyone know of him? Maybe we can get him to get Rockets/Texans/Astros gear in his video.

Here's a link to a funny article about him in Esquire. It has some great behind the scenes stories.

he was always the director on the old MTV show "Making the Video". did britney spears' videos, numerous boy bands, etc. him and Hype Williams was their 'bread and butter'. i poke fun but i wouldn't mind living out a dream like that.

    yeah...

    I met him before.

    Jersey Village class of 90.

done crap for britney spears, korn, dmx, black eyed peas, papa roach, backstreet boys, moby, eminem, u2.

infact, the u2 video, stuck in a moment was filmed in the astrodome, and two of the coaches in the video are teachers at that high school.

he wants to do the live action transformer movie.

    his debut movie was torque.

he was going to direct the fourth installment of the Crow.

Reading the Esquire article about him it seems he HATED making the movie Torque and prefers commercials/videos.

this is what i learned in 2001. he' no longer going to be doing the crow iv: lazarus.

im sure he would like to do a movie again, but when a good one comes up.

i've told this story before, but i'll say again.

he's indirectly responisble for making britney spears the sexpot she is...or something like that.

he was originally going to do her first video, baby one more time, or whatever song it's called. she canned the idea, because it had dancing robots, and sci fi crap like that. she didn't want that. she wanted the school girl outfit crap.
he ended up not shooting the video.

they did eventually hook up for some more videos.

Dancing robots? That's funny, but I prefer the school girl outfit.

I remember hearing about him wanting to direct the Transformers movie. Thankgod he didn't get it, I say. Though, it ended up in Michael Bay's hands... Hopefully Spielberg will be heavily involved.

I went to high school with this guy (I was JV class of 91), and even back then, folks knew he was going places. I remember that MTV had a contest: shoot your own Madonna video. Joseph made a video for "Vogue" that was so professional-looking (even though it was totally amateur, and had kids from the school lip-synching to the song), it was disqualified. They chose some crappy video for "True Blue" that looked more amaterurish as the winner. He's definintely talented.

I think I still have that video on VHS somewhere...

I've seen him on the behind the scenes of Eminem's 'Without Me' video. Didn't realize he was from Houston. From his interviews though, it sounded like he wasn't all that 'in' in highschool. Said he spent his Fridays at the multiplex. Guess he was doing research :). Sweetest revenge is success I guess.
