I tried to go back and find the original NCAA 2004 thread, but I couldn't.

Anyway, does anyone have NCAA 2004 yet for any platform? I've read people here and there on the ea sports boards that claim to have it, usually people who've preordered from gamespot or funcoland.

If anyone has it yet- where did you get it, and what are your first impressions? Things you like/ don't like? Your first game or dynasty you plan to start, etc.

All I have around me are the typical Target, Circuit City and Walmart locales. So, I think it's likely I'll have to wait until Wednesday or Thursday to get mine, but let me know if you found the game at a place like that.

PS I really wish they wouldn't have taken the "goal post tearing down" celebration out. I'm assuming they did, as it's been reported that the NCAA thought it reflected poorly upon them. Oh well.

    I'm getting mine tomorrow. I pre-ordered it on www.ebgames.com

Hopefully it won't be a re-tread of last years game. I have an xbox so I can't play online...which sucks, but other than that its cool.

Now the big ones drop in august and sept.

    Madden and ESPN NFL 2k4

I am obsessed with that game series. I will be driving around and calling many places tomorrow to see if they have it. I want the game. I bought 2003 without worrying about the cost. From what I hear, everything looks more defined and entrances are improved. We'll see.

two of my friends in Nashville have called and rubbed in that they were able to walk into a store tonight and pick one up.

I preordered mine from easports.com thinking I'd get it first....mine doesn't even show it's shipped yet.

    bastards

Yeah some people on gamefaqs claim they got theirs today. I've got my preordered from a local Gamespot and my friend who works there says they're expecting to get theirs tomorrow afternoon/evening. Good thing I work until after they close *grumble*. Oh well, he'll pick it up for me, I just hate having to wait to play it after waiting all this time for it.

I heard it was released online on 7/14 and in stores 7/15 so maybe it'll be in stores on Tuesday. I went to 4 different places looking today (Monday) during my lunch break....not that I'm obsessed or anything.

This is THE GAME I look forward to every year. The only game that trumps Madden IMO. Anyone know a good website to find accurate rosters?

Ebgames usually gets their games a few days before the official release date. As soon as they get them they ship them out the same day. I pre-orderd mine, they got them in on Monday and next day it to me on Tue. In addition, they gave me 10% off.

That's a damned good deal. I think that 2003 was one of the best games ever for sure. I just hope that they don't omit some of the fight songs (Auburn's for example) like they did last time. At least get all the major BCS conference schools right!

For real....what was up with generic fight song for the University of Texas? It sure as hell wasn't "Texas Fight." And then they'd play that pared down version of "The Eyes of Texas." They need to get that right, and have Texas come out through the fog machine.....

I've heard that there are only like 5 team unique entrances, other than the fog. I hope there are more than that. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

NCAA 2003 was rated one of the best video games ever by several gaming magazines. My only complaint, as junglerules mentioned, was the wrong fight song for Texas. Also, I'm tired of hearing the same generic fight songs over and over again.

Still, I love the dynasty mode, as well as the accurate player rankings.

Being a Texas grad, it's kinda funny that I had never played a dynasty with Texas until a couple of weeks ago. I usually like trying out some new teams, or teams not quite so good, so while my friend used Texas on a dynasty we started when the game first came out, I used Oregon, a pretty good team, but not as good as Texas on NCAA. Anyway, I guess I need to find some rosters online. I bought a magazine to help, but usually, someone out there has it all in one place, as accurate as possible. If i find something, i'll post it here.

Must. Get. This. Game. As. Soon. As. it. Comes Out.

Dynasty mode is my favorite part. I swear I could enjoy myself recruiting all 30 years of the dynasty without playing any games.

And I'm so happy they edited coach contracts. Pued and I were playing our dynasty at my place and we both got fired after ridiculous success at rice(pued) and marshall(me). I had 4 championships at Marshall and still got fired, and he had at least two at Rice, where the WAC becomes the toughest conference in the game oddly enough.

Does it come out in houston stores the 16th or 17th? Or should I just make a daily trek to check the next few days? ;)

wow, I thought I was the only one :D Its funny to see a team like a Louiville dominate college football for 20 + years. The main thing I really hope they fix is the BCS, it just cant be possibly be right. I cant count the times that a team out of the Wac or conference USA bumped me out of the national title game despite playing absolutely nobody. I always hate going undefeated and not making the title game espically if Im simming b/c its so hard if you dont mess with your schedule and your in a big time conference.

Oh, but beating schools like Morgan State, TSU, and Howard by scores of 90-0 is so much fun.

    :p

Seriously, on 2003, if I'm in a power conference, I'd schedule 4 nobodies, just because your potential for losing in conference is so much higher than in the MAC or other weak conferences.

And yes, I agree its ridiculous, but when they give you the option, you gotta take it while the getting is good.

    :D

Btw, if any austinites want to get together at somebodys place, and have a NCAA 2004 tournament on a weekly or monthy basis starting in the fall, I'd be all about that.

Since they added a ton of teams, Sam Houston will be in this one, right?

(I buy the game every year.)

Actually from what I've read the Southland conference got stiffed again this year. Shame really I wanted to take the Bearkats and stomp Texas into the ground. I guess Rice or UH will have to do.

I'm a longhorn, but it kind of gets boring after back to back to back to back national championships, in the game that is...

So I like taking crappy Football programs like Rice and UH and reviving them in the Dynasty Mode.
