I just got mine out of the drawer and am charging it up, hasn't been on in about 2 years. Is there any reason to play it these days? I have 2 of them....one has the original firmware still.....it has hardly been used. Do people still use them or is it all DSI now? DD
Maybe 'cuz you're on the road, bored...? Or maybe 'cuz you can't take your PS3 with you everywhere? Of course there are more reasons. I believe it's not all DSi... I have a couple cousins with PSPs. When they come over to the house, they connect them to my PS3. Developers still make games for it. Gran Turismo was released last year again for PSP. Movies are still available on their format and case, and it's a good media player. It's a matter of preference. I think the PSP is more geared towards teens and older peeps, while the DSi will give you all these "Mario" games from Nintendo for the younger audience... My daughters have the Nintendo games.
I'm pretty sure they are still used rite now. I think the newest ones are slimmer and lighter. There is always new games coming out for PSP. I gave mine away last year, but I find myself missing it, especially since I've been traveling to Mexico a lot on bus and it gets boring! I wish I still had mine.
If you like rpg's, PSP is a beast. Finished Ys Seven a month ago and currently playing Ys Oath in Felgham. I have a PSP-2000 and it looks like the screen is going to give out soon. JW if anyone else had problems with their display. Probably pick up a PSP-3000 if I can get in the Target BF sale for $120.
Yeah, I still use my PSP on trips and sometimes if I'm really bored. Their online store is good. You can buy a lot of great PS1 games and almost any PSP game, too (just get a large enough SD card). I recommend Patapon 2.
Mine died about a year ago I think. It doesn't charge at all. I'd probably still play it here and there if it did work. There were some good games on it.
How do you connect to the online store? Do you have to attach it to a PS3, or through WiFi? I guess I need to upgrade my firmware too. Can you play when it is plugged in? Maybe replace the battery? DD
I remember hearing that playing while charging may burn out the wireless card. My 1000 can't get online anymore, I think I may have killed it by doing that.
I bought two of them when they first came out and have had them on maybe 1 hour each..... Just dug them out and am trying to decide what to do with them....maybe let my kids play them....but they all have the DSI stuff etc. DD
PSPS are good if you have the right games. I almost never play it except on long road trips, so I never buy any games. It is especially useful though, because you can surf the internet.
WiFi. Yes, you need to upgrade. I had like, version 1.x a while back and had to upgrade to get the store. It's exactly like the PS3's store.
I will buy one from you if you don't want it and it's in good condition (playable, all functions work, etc.).
Swoly, I might take you up on that, am charging one now...at 35%.....and will charge the other right after..... I got some free games from my pals that make the Legos games in the UK a couple of weeks ago....got Indy version 1 and 2.....and want to try them out...... I got them on both the PSP, and the DSI...my kids wanted those....so I thought....wth...try out the PSP games.....will let you know how it goes and if I want to sell one. DD
I was just thinking about my PSP the other day, I havnt turned it on in about 2 years either. I used to use it a lot when I was on trains rides in Europe. Other than that, not much
Neither. I have 2 batteries and they both won't charge. I'm guessing it's a problem on the 'motherboard'. It doesn't receive any power. I suppose it could just be a problem with the plug...if I could only find someone else with a PSP to test it out.
BTW - that PSP phone looks like a must have....for me anyway.....I love my Iphone but if I can combine that with a real hand held gaming system ....yes please ! DD
