Watching tv from a laptop or a phone where ever you are. Only 179. Pretty sick device and I wont miss any more rockets game.
I used one for several years when I was traveling on a regular basis. I got it purely to catch Rockets and Astros games. One of the best per dollar investments I ever made. I'd get back to the hotel, hit up the DVR remotely and watch recorded games.
I've had one for what seems forever now. Must be since around 2004 or so. Although, now it's just in the closet collecting dust since I got Direct TV.
My family does. They live overseas and have it hooked up to a TV in America. They watch Rockets games and everything with it.
Had one of the earlier ones a few years back; but the setup was a bit of a mess and completely unworkable when I moved to a new apartment.
I had the Hava but gave it away to one of the Clutchfans here because I no longer needed it. But when I traveled, before TV shows etc were online, it was great. But now that League Pass is online, no need for it anymore. DD
I know what it does but how does it work? What medium does the A/V travel through? Does it come with ethernet attachments? Does the home TV have to be on the specific channel? Can two people watch different things at the same time when one is at home and the other on the road? Crazy that I of all people do not know.
I have a slingbox set up in my Dad's house in Australia. It is simply a box that connects the composite output (my slingbox is Standard Definition) of the DVR to a router via ethernet. I can control the DVR via the internet from here in the USA, and use it record and then stream aussie rules football and cricket. Of course you can watch it live if you want. Quality is ok -I get speeds of up to 900kbps, which is only just acceptable for a fast moving sport like aussie rules. It is awesome for me, living overseas, and I suggest if you do a lot of travel it might be useful.
I have it and I love it. I travel a lot and now I don't miss any soccer games. I need to find someone in the US who would hook one up for me so I could watch NBA and American TV through that (I'd buy the thing and pay a fee for electricity or whatever, of course).
The cheapest version just uses the coaxial cable, you can use a splitter. So it doesn't interfere with what you're watching on your tv. It has an ethernet port to be connected to your router. You can watch it anywhere in th world online, on a pc or phone. It has a built in TV guide, and allows you to change the channels to any channel with out interfering with the house it's connected to. My parents live over seas and they used my slingbox all the time till I moved and got Direct TV. now we'd have to have a nicer model and a dedicated DTV box for it. With cable, it just connected directly to the coaxial cable.
