This is spawned by the "Lucid Dreaming" thread but is not about dreams so I thought I would start my own thread. I am curious for myslef but if others want to share odd phenomena dealing with being human, go right ahead.

Ever since I was little I have had brief experiences where it is as if my own thoughts, my internal dialogues is screaming. In other words, I could think, "I am going to get some water" but it registers in my head as "I AM GOING TO GET SOME WATER". In addition to this, everythig seems a bit faster within my head. Hard to describe. This is usually not a tension thing where I feel nervous...it can come at any time. Also, I get it less often these days but it still comes every now and then. I can't make it stop. It lasts maybe 20 minutes or so.

Yes, I know what you're talking about. That has happened to me. It is, indeed, very weird.
I also have episodes where any picture or scene I imagine in my head starts to zoom away like I'm falling away from the picture. I can't focus on it because it just keeps slipping away. Chaotic.

I'll get you the number of the mental asylum I just got out of.

NOW, I AM GOING TO GET SOME WATER!!! My internal dialogue has exclamation marks.

I used to get this when I was younger. It hasn't happened in years, though.

    Try alcohol.

But you told me meth would make me cool! I didn't think being yelled at by yourself was cool. I guess I am super duper uncool.

    man, this does happen.

Both times I had a 103 degree fever, though, so was hallucinating.

When time gets warped to speed up...I mean, you think you are going insane. The first time it happened I was about 12. The second time I was 19 in the Army. The second time I even knew what to expect but couldn't stop it. You try to sit still as possible, because every move you do goes at warp speed. his does NOT work.

Then I thought...ok I need a metronome to balance me. I turned on the radio. This worked for about 10 minutes,,,then the music sped up in my head.

    ahhhh

so then I decided I need to go for a walk to have other people be my metronome....to watch other people walk at normal pace. Now, this is with a 103 fever in my pajamas....I'm walking on Fort Hood.

    rimbaud,

yep,,,it does happen. Your mind can warp time.
