Some guys at work are going to Fadi's today for lunch, I'm trying to decide if I want to go or not. I believe they serve Mediterranean style food. I was all set to go eat some persian at Kasra. If you've never been to Kasra, they have some great stuff at cheap prices...it is right in the same parking lot as Benihana's on Westheimer.

The food is nothing amazing. I think the chicken was bland, but the fruit drinks are pretty good, a little like Jamba Juice but without a crapload of sugar.

The lamb there is pretty good. The kibbies are good, as well.

Fadi's is pretty good. I eat at the one across from Meyerland Plaza. Decent kabobs and salads. Not the greatest in town, but not the worst either.

Ate at the Dallas location after the 65-13 blowout. The falafel was excellent, as was the hummus. I like how it's cafeteria style, so you don't have to wait for a server to get a refill. Supposedly the lamb is really good too.

For some reason i've been frequenting Jamba Juice because i've been a wheatgrass shot junkie!

Gimme a Wheatgrass Shot! Double! With two orange slices!

BTW I like Fadi's but the food is a little bland. Similar but better food is at Istanbul Grill in Rice Village. Their food is excellent and its pretty cheap. Their bread is AMAZING and the Meat platter rocks.

you did NOT just say that...tell me you didn't. i'm not sure we can be friends anymore.

i was never into the smoothie scene before...had a few smoothie king samples, but was never impressed.

i'm freaking addicted to jamba juice. it will most certainly drive me to bankruptcy, as each precious cup is close to $5....but I'd gladly pay $6. It's that good.

Don't get your panties in a bunch there, juiceboy. Just a personal preference.

But I do hit The Juice every time I'm in Whole Foods. Mmmmm...wheatgrass.

YES! Another item that FD and I can agree on. I've been going to Istanbul Grill since it opened. It is fantastic. FD, have you tried the new place the owners of Istanbul Grill opened on Westheimer, just west of the Galleria? It's called Ephesus Grill. It's in the strip center just before the Palm Restaurant as you head west on Westheimer. Similar menu, but more items available. Nicer decor with little private rooms you can get where you sit on pillows on the floor. Prices are a little higher because it is more upscale, but the food is damn good. Check it out!

    Fadi's is disgustingly overpriced.

There is a fadi's coupon for 1/2 off the second entree at www.hotcoupons.com. I think it's slightly overpriced and the food is okay. I like the deep fried cauliflower but it's so greasy but tastes just like eating potatoes. The kabob's were disappointing but the lamb shank is pretty good.

If you want Fadi's cafeteria food, go pay $9 for a buffet at Dimassi's on Richmond and Post Oak Blvd. If you want shawarma, go to House of Kabob on Westheimer by Winrock, it's ~$2.50 for a shawarma wrap.
