Since Brooks first perfomed at last years summer league games, the first thing i did was try to find a player who shared his sames size and skills: 6ft tall, about 165 pounds, great speed, crazy quick, good pull-up jumper, great free throw shooter, and amazing jumping ability. Now all of these characteristics could almost perfectly describe either player. After making these observations i pretty much made up my mind that if Brooks wanted to be succuessfull in this league he would need to follow either allen iverson or t.j. fords approach to the game and now that A.B. is really showing his potential I dont see brooks being an a.i. type of player, he is a true scoring point guard in my opinion which is more ford than a.i. I hope im not the only one who has been looking forward to see how these 2 match up. Hopefully Rick will be as curious as i am. im really looking forward to comparing these guys next to eachother. Anyways, thats my two cents and i know there has got to be some of yall that see eye to eye with me about brooks and his potential and likeness to ford. thanx for reading.
Brooks has long range and Ford doesn't. One of the biggest difference I see. And, Ford is the better passer IMO...
not even a close comparison past size and speed.. there games couldnt be more different.............ford is a point guard......brooks is a hybrib scorer..... brooks imho is twice the player ford is...... ford doesnt have the scorin ability of brooks who is dangerous anywhere on a basketball court.....in the paint, midrange, or long distance..... ford also cant shoot worth a crap....that part of his game never ever developed or he would have beeen very special...... bottomline brooks ceiling is way higher and smashes fords everyday of the week and twice on sunday
