This sucks. I've got a Wills & Estates exam tomorrow morning at 8:30 am.. Four grueling hours of tedious applications of residuary clauses, probate code analysis, and tax analysis... and I'm wide awake. Count sheep? Doesn't work! Lay perfectly still for 30 minutes? Been there, done that. Drink a few glasses of wine? No luck! Well, maybe I can at least get a little commisseration from fellow sufferers. "Who needs sleep!? Well you're never gonna get it... Who needs sleep? Tell me what's that for..." Etc. Etc. Share your exam horror stories!' P.S. I'm not adequately prepared, since I had a criminal procedure exam today. And I won't be prepared for the exam on Wednesday in Evidence, either. Woohoo! Ambulance chasing here I come!
Exact opposite. I should be working on some last minute photography stuff but am fighting my eyelids and addiction to this board.
Have I ever mentioned how much I hate you before? Aren't you from Arkansas, too? I hate you for that, too. Damn you Arkie bastards (if it applies, of course)... Texas would be in the Sugar bowl (through the back door, of course) but for you inbred sons of b****es! *takes back all of this on Thursday.
Beating Arkansas wouldn't have made a difference; OU still wins the south, KSU still wins the north, KSU still beats OU, and UT doesn't make the BCS since only two Big XII teams can go. Also, on topic: I can't go to sleep before 3:30 on any night. It's horrible.
Yup, I slept through half the time I had during my SATs about 5 years back... still got a decent score though!
Actually, you're wrong. In this very bizarre (and possible) scenario, the Conference Champion stays home. The designated championship game's match-up preempts all other rules. IF OU/Texas had been #1, then K-State would have been in the Holiday. As weird as that may sound. As I said, if it weren't for those redneck, sibling-loving sons of b****es...
I'd much rather be an at least half-prepared insomniac than a cramming sleepy head right now. ... and Arkansas? Um, not me...
I also get the most worthless nights sleep before an 8:30 exam. Did you guys have them in the afternoon first year? When i finally get to sleep i dream of sleeping through the exam or studying outlines of very basic crap. Fortunatly i am almost done for the semester but for a final on friday (criminal procedure II).
nyquil nyquil nyquil. i'd never used it to make myself fall asleep on purpose really, but after just getting sick and taking it for like 5 days, it reminded me just how quick it puts me out so i ended up taking it for the next 3 days even though i was OK just b/c i wanted to get a good night's sleep before working on this bigass project thing each day. worked every time. there was some trepidation on my part beforehand that i wouldn't be able to wake up easily b/c i'd be knocked out, but that wasn't true at all. i actually woke up more refreshed than usual and pretty much just popped up once the alarm went off (as opposed to the usual hit the snooze and jump back in bed as soon as possible routine). i can't say exams have ever made it more tough for me to go to sleep than normal. of course, going to sleep is a b**** for me every night. i regularly fall asleep at 5 or 6 a.m. and am quite wide awake right now at 3:45. exams might make me stay up b/c i haven't studied any before that night and have to cram all night, but i'm usually fighting my eyelids ferociously at the end. thankfully that should not be the case this semester as i don't have a ton of preparing to do for my two finals and they're both afternoon finals anyway. in conclusion, slurp down some nyquil if you're not already asleep.
Ah, I remember those days! Now, I am lucky to get 6 hours of sleep. I have this final tonight in International Management and it is an all essay test. I studied my ass off for the mid-term and only got an 80, but I really don't think that I wrote enough. As for this test, considering that I had to work some this past weekend, perform in a Christmas concert on Friday night and Saturday night, and various other things, I have barely had enough time to even think about studying for this exam. Thank goodness, I will have all kinds of time today at work to study for this, but I really don't think it is going to help me too much. I am just hoping that I know how to answer the majority of the questions and that my bullsh!tting skils are in top form tonight! I may just take a 50 and get the hell out of that class with a B.
sleep is for the weak. yeah, it's about 6:30 and i'm still up even after drinking heavily for the past 10 hours or so and popping a vicodin. whatever, i'm used to it by now.... at least i only have one final left, and it'll be easy as hell. all the more reason to booze heavily and sleep lightly (although sleeping heavily would be much cooler).
Good lord, you scheduled classes with final exams on back-to-back-to-back days? Yuck. Good luck with the classes haven. And if things go badly, I know that ambulance-chasing thing will work out. For sleeping, I would go do something physical. Run a little, go shoot a few hoops at your local court, lift weights, something. Something about the brain chemicals released during exercise always helped me sleep better. If that doesn't work, you could drink some alcohol like some of my friends. Nothing like being hung over for finals.
Dude, I have hell during finals week. I don't understand why, either. I'm a good student that does well throughout the entire semester and never gets TOO worked up about tests, but I just lose it during finals. All I can think about is the possibility of doing real bad on all of my tests and losing my scholarship...Which makes it really hard to study and to sleep sometimes.
haven -- you'll do fine! i did this during the bar exam...believe me, it gets worse. i was dreaming about UCC stuff one night...literally woke up going through commercial transactions in my head. not good.
