classic had the 1995 nba finals films on again yesterday and everytime i watch that program or my championship tapes i get all teary eyed remembering how great hakeem was am i the only guy/girl like this. damn i am just waiting for this season to start so we can make the playoffs
Any true fan can feel that way if they saw the games live. I mean the stuff Hakeem was doing was classic and made you say wow. Your are not the only one that was in Aww by the rockets those years. The rest of the league was too when we were looking at them in our rear view mirror leaving them shaking there heads like Dream did to David.
I have a videotape of the first playoff run and championship and I still well up in three places: When we emerge as "Clutch City" after being Choke City 4 days prior. When Dream calls out the team to share his MVP applause. When Rudy and Dream hoist the trophy together.
I like Sam Cassell's comments in the Double Clutch video. He's so sincere with everything he says. Every time I watch it makes me forget how good those teams were. The Bulls wouldn't stand a chance when the Rockets were rollin'.
watched it last night...got me all excited and put me in a great mood. Had to go drink though when I realized that it probably wont happen ever again...
man, i watched it 2 times. the original time and the encore. i got all mushy and i miss those times. i loved that season. rocs, burning out the suns (( again )), hakeem makin drob look like an *******, and rudy screamin, "NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE HEART OF A CHAMPION!!!". greatest season ever!!!
Don't know about anyone else, but I still cringe when someone mentions Frank Reich and the Buffalo Bills
I own both tapes and actually get a little teary eyed when watching it. My wife makes fun of me. But I get that way when watching the movies Rudy, Field of Dreams, *61 etc...
I will never forget their first championship against the Knicks... I was in Carmel Valley Ranch in Monterrey California going to see my little brother in boarding school. We sat on the bed with room service and a smuggled bottle of tequila jumping up and down on the beds at Vernon and Kenny made ridiculous three pointers and Hakeem kept hitting that fade away...
I remember being at a kickas^ party during a game in that series. That OJ crap came on and they played it over the game . I had to go down to my car and listen to it on the radio. ahhh......great memories...........
