San Jac Central has a very good sound recording technology program. And AFAIK, Texas State is the only Texas school that offers a bachelors degree in SRT.

they have a VERY good studio and great instructors with lots of real world experience. (when I was there back in the mid 90s)

and the real bonus is that San Jac isnt terribly expensive....I dont know if they still offer it, but the advanced class offered a intern program where you could get on at a real studio in town to learn from guys doing it every day.

I did a short stint at Sugar Hill(after Huey) with Dan Workman, who was a blast to learn from..very cool and smart as hell. My main problem with learning the trade is that you are expected to intern for free or for very little pay...which I could not do with a family and all that.

Still love doing live sound tho.....aint nothing like it....I miss it terribly. :(

I recorded on an album at Sugar Hill with Dan and saw some SRT guys from San Jac interning there. This was about 2002 so yeah, they're most likely still doing the internships.
