They're looking pretty damn good against a Utah team that has only lost once in February. Camby gives Portland the rebounding and defense that they lost after both their centers went down for the season. Of course, Roy coming back also makes a giant impact on the quality of their play. Do they have a chance in the playoffs? I think they can surprise a lot of people if Roy gets healthier as the season winds down (a big if since he seems to be frustrated with the healing process) and if Camby maintains a high level of defensive play at center.
Blazers are playing inspired compared to Friday, which isn't saying much. The Jazz are also missing Okur & AK47, D-Will isn't 100% and Ronnie Brewer just got traded away. If the Blazers aren't careful, they will blow this game anyway. Even if they hang on, they have a rough road ahead if Roy's hamstring doesn't stop hurting.
True about the Jazz hurting, but aren't you enthusiastic about the Camby acquisition given that they have been trotting out Juwan Howard at the 4? I think the Blazers have a chance to do some damage in the playoffs if they can stay healthy. Roy seems to be getting better, though he might just be playing through gritted teeth.
IF IF IF Roy's hamstring gets back to 100%, the Blazers could be a dangerous 1st round opponent. That is a very big question right now. It isn't good that he missed a month and it still hasn't completely healed. Very very bad sign this late in the season. I'm not a doctor, but count me on the pessimistic side. He ain't gonna fully recover.
It's not good when you blow a 25-point 2nd half lead. I expect the Jazz will take the OT comfortably and continue their 4th quarter blowout.
I never understood the love for LaMarcus Aldridge. He's soft. He doesn't bang in the post. He can't Block shots. I guess they don't make Power Forwards like they used to.
