Pretty interesting. I saw in on the Learning channel. Some guy has built the case for UFO's using paintings. He wrote a book about it. He shows one in the famous Madonna painting. When I saw it on TV it looked exactly like a UFO. Holy cow. The internet pictures don't do it justice, but on TV, it looked like a UFO with a guy checking it out. It was silver, ufo shaped, and everything. http://www.webtre.it/images/Madonna.jpg
this is the proof that scully and mulder have been looking for. burn it............................................
Actually, Scully and myself dismissed that as a dried, smeared booger from the artist a few years ago...
Not that this deserves a response, but... You do know the birth of Jesus was preceded by the appearance of a miraculous new star in the East? Not a reach to think the artist would put that symbol in his painting, esp. since he is painting the story centuries later. Or maybe he just decided to throw a UFO in there fun. Why not?
If it looked like a star that would make sense, but watch the Learning Channel. It doesn't look anything like a star. The guy goes on to back up the exisitence of UFO's using lots of famous paintings that aren't that religious. It was interesting. I'm not saying I believe it, but it was a good proof from his perspective.
I have not read the book, whatever it may be called, but the author uses paintings from every century to justify his claim. Apparently there are very few gaps. The Art pretty much speaks for itself. Wish I could remember more paintings. But I was amazed at how many famous artisits had depicted aliens in their paintings. Who knows why they did it, but they sure did?
Im very interested in UFO's. I had a very close UFO encounter back on 10/31/92. Most mysterious day of my life...
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/m.hurley/index2.html http://xfacts.com/old/index2.html Heres a couple links, artists certainly have been fascinated by flying objects for the majority of human history.
http://www.najaco.com/mystery/pictures12/hieroplanes.htm Here is a link to some Egyptian Hieroglyphs, some look like modern helicopters, planes, and "spacecraft" (maybe)... weird stuff to be sure.
This is hilarious. I hope nobody is taking any of this too seriously. Whoever writes this stuff (on the websites linked here) obviously knows nothing about art, art history, and the history of religious/mythological imagery (visual, textual, or otherwise) in general. Whoever the idiot who wrote the book is, he is a w**** and just wants money. People are stupid and will buy his trash. Picking up a real book, however, on either the different periods or a general survey will be much more useful and informative.
