It's called u-Verse. I have the "cable" U300+HD package with 3MB speed DSL. Yes. I highly recommend it... and... uhhh... can I get the credit?

Just got U-Verse in the Austin area two weeks ago. Great picture quality (SD, though I've heard their HD feed is hit-or-miss, depending on your locale), nice features, decent price. One of the best features is the web-remote scheduling: you can schedule recordings and manage recorded programs remotely via the web. Not to mention the Flickr feature: accessing your Flickr photos via TV. VERY highly recommended.

There have been a few threads about U-Verse in the past. Just do a search.

I'm on U-Verse. And I love it. The internet speed is so much faster (and consistent) compared to Comcrap.

Cable tv wise, it's pretty nice. The whole interactive menu is a neat feature. It's cool how I can press menu and get weather and traffic updates right next to tv listings.

Oh yeah and NFL Network, fox SW, espn2, all in HD

Another plus: Whole house DVR coming by the end of '08. This will allow you to watch recorded programs on any TV in the house.

pgabriel, email me through the board if you want to pull the trigger. I work for AT&T and could use the referral. :)

I constantly schedule remotely when I forget to schedule at home. Be careful, though, make it YOUR Yahoo! account the one that will have access... my wife's account does it instead of mines... I am thinking about changing it...
Caveat: programs recorded in ONE or ANY DVR can be seen on any TV with a cable hook up. But you can't record

So, eh... :( can I get dibs on the referral? :(

No, I don't, yo. But... eh... don't we get a "referral" if we get peeps to sign up, like DiwreckTV does? I thought we did.

I have ComCAST and i dont see how people think DSL is better.
I want you DSL guys to go to www.speakeasy.net/speedtest

Download Speed: 20431 kbps (2553.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 2381 kbps (297.6 KB/sec transfer rate)

How is DSL better than "ComCRAP" when my upload is faster than regular 1.5 megabyte dsl

Yeah I used to have it as well, I had the 3.0 megabyte package and it was really like 2.1 DURING THE DAY, those 2wire modem/routers they give out SUCK, I would always get disconnected. Gaming online with DSL SUCKS.

    $30 for that crap.
$12 more gives you speeds up to 20 megabytes.

    Powerboost is awesome.

Most common reason as to why people have problems with Comcast in regards to internet service is because people kept those crappy bulky modems that Time Warner used to give out.
I went out a got an extremely small Scientific Atlanta one at my local Comcast store, for free.

    It really made a difference.

Only thing that sucks about Comcast is that they are expensive.
I would get ATT Uverse if it was available in my area but only for TV, never for internet.

Relax... captain compost... or captain comcast in this situation...

I will try your SpeakEasy test when I get home... but... what will THAT prove to YOU? You will end up calling ComCast for service 2 more times before I make my first call 'cuz my Internet is "slow."

lol im just saying, since I used to have DSL, and I absolutely hated it.
Okay... good luck when your DSL light goes out on that 2wire modem of yours. (I'm guessing they still give those out)

    What about compared with Fios?
I think U verse might be available in more places than Fios though.

you can only have 6 boxes but you can only have 4 working at a time. ONLY one can watch HD at a time even if you have 2 HD boxes. With cable I have a tv going in every room if I want to.

They won't let you pay for two subscriptions either.
