Yup. We've all got, ALL got about 2 1/2 years to get back on track. First to do so gets a cadillac. 2nd? Steak knives. 3rd?
Does Global warming make warmer winters as well? It did snow last November, and the last time before that was Christmas eve 2004, so does it just stretch out the extremes? Newscast didn't even have time to resize their columns.
It's been anywhere from 65 to 80 here in Western New York. Not too bad. I would say overall, it's been slightly cooler than average.
I still can't get over the shellshock of moving to Dallas because of this. I remember I moved here during the heatwave of 1998 (something like 20-30 straight days of 100 degree heat). It was 100-113 or so during the days and at night around 10pm it cooled down to 95. Wth? I'm not sure it ever drops below 85 at night. And if it's hitting 100 in Houston, that's way above Houston normals for this time of year... I don't even want to know what it may be during July down there. Pray your AC doesn't go out.
You are correct, sir. Although we were able to sneak a softball game in yesterday. I hauled my fat butt around the bases for a triple.
It's f'n hot in Dallas too...it's been humid, which sux...been out of Houston so long I forgot what humidity felt like...
I don't know how anyone could possibly like Houston summers. It's un-freaking-bearable. If I win the lottery the first thing I'm doing is buying a summer home somewhere far away from this misery.
95 right now, 'feels like' 109 (weather.com) in central FL. It's been unbearable the past week or two. But I think the real heat kicked in later than last year, so I'm not complaining.
I'm going to do this again later tonight just to see how much temps vary across various hot spots : Current Temp/Heat Index : Houston : 93/98 (it's starting to cool down in Houston) Dallas : 94/98 (Houston and Dallas usually have similar heat index during the day) New Orleans : 93/101 Miami : 81/86 Orlando : 94/98 Birmingham : 93/100 Phoenix : 96/96 Gainesville, Fl : 93/103 McAllen, Tx : 96/102 (usually one of the hottest places in Texas) Eagle Pass, Tx :101/104 (another usual Texas hell-hole)
