Also, #1 in Sacks (11.5) #1 in Stuffs/Tackles for Losses (11) #1 in Passes Defended for D-Linemen (5, tied with Cliff Avril & Rob Ninkovich) #2 in Combined Tackles for D-Linemen (50, only 1 tackle behind Linval Joseph who has 51) #12 in QB Hurries (16, #4 among D-linemen). Is this just the QB Hits stat that aren't actual "hits"? Regardless, he would still be ranked #1 in combined QB Hits & Hurries among all defensive players. All this while facing more double & triple teams. We could use some INTs, FFs and Fumble Recoveries though
i found it funny that the national media, espen and nfl network, first play they went to was the pass to watt that was not caught.

JJ Watt is on track to be arguably the greatest defensive player in NFL history. With the **** storm that is this franchise, how can anyone have fatigue over Watt?
Just the last 20ish years: Reggie White Deion LT Ronnie Lott Rod Woodson Singletary Ray Lewis Ed Reed ??? Watt is somewhere in that top 10 already.
It's great JJ lives up to the hype. Texan's defense overall is doing well too. We lead 3rd Down conversion rate, by far. Distance between Texans and 2nd.. is 2nd and 10th. Not exactly going out on a limb. He already is arguably the greatest due to the unprecedented feats he's already and/or will easily accomplish. TFLs, DPOY record (3, Taylor), 20+ Sack seasons, PDs, Pick 6's. Assuming Watt wins DPOY this year and 1 more over the following 2 seasons... Watt becomes almost unanimous, IMO. 4x DPOY (possibly 3-4 consecutive), 100+ sacks (from a linemen), 6x First Team All-Pro (some seasons @ multiple positions)...... in 7 seasons
Yeah and the opponents wouldn't have scored all of these points. A truly great player pitches a shutout every week. Overrated
I'm gonna be able to tell my grand kids that I actually went to the stadium and saw jj watt play... 35 years from now he will reach Babe Ruth status where his exploits become lost in memory and the outrageous stories about what he did on the field become blurred in legend and truth.. Except we can say we were there to witness the reality .
