I'm expecting leaving Toronto to Fuzhou in early July and return by mid-August (around Aug.20)..and the cheapest one I can found was $2010 Haven't seen my mom for almost six years and what the hell with the cost of the flight (Did the cost raised just because of the death of Osama Bin Laden) Thanks Clutchfans.
Yikes that is expensive. I just checked Kayak and it returned about the same prices. Have you considered routing to a city with a bigger airport maybe, and travelling home from there? I don't know how popular a destination Fuzhou is compared to others.
You're trying to travel during the peak travel time of the year, so it's going to be expensive. Not necessarily $2,000+ expensive, but I doubt you'll be finding any tickets in the 3-figure range. Also, it's probably a lot cheaper flying into Tapei if you can.

If you use multiple stops, you can get it for around $1650 canadian on Orbitz apparently. Cheapoair.com has it for around $1700-$1800. *EDIT* : Oops, apparently you settled for a June trip. My prices above are for your original dates.
