Or Mike Miller, allows us to move Battier to the bench...thats depth. At one position anyway.

We wont get Miller and Battier but i think getting Hakim is a possibility since Jerry West has already showed how much he likes Gay and wouldn't mind giving up Warrick.

Get real. What are we going to do? Threaten not to make the trade when West already knows Van Gundy won't play a rookie? If this were a card game, we've already laid 'em out for all to see.

Gater, how are the salaries going to match in this trade? Gay will earn about 1.8 million or more than that along with Swift's 5.4 million. Does the draft picks salary not matter in this trade cause it seem like it should? We are looking at about 7.2-7.4 million for Battier's 5.4 mill next year, something is not adding up. Aren't you good with figuring this stuff out.

This is what I wrote in another thread:

Don't you think that the Rockets silence is attributed to something? They are not saying a word and there is no way they can be that silent for two weeks. Could we possibly be waiting till July 1st to contact some players on Memphis("officially") such as Bobby Jackson and maybe if Jackson or Chucky Atkins, even Lorenzen Wright are cool with it(previous negotiations may have happened although illegal) then we do a sign and trade. If they don't then Memphis still has to throw in something because the salaries still don't match if you consider Gay's salary at 8 will be about 1.8 million or more. Maybe if their free agents decline the deal then we will be ok with just taking Dahntay Jones or Hakim Warick. We could give them Sura's expiring contract as well if Bobby Jackson is cool with the trade. This is the only explanation I have for them being so silent and possibly being fined for "1 million dollars for talking" while Jerry West is talking it up all over the place.

I am probably talking out of my ass. :)

This is like when a guy takes a girl out, has sex with her, and takes her home telling her "I'll call you tomorrow". That guy's name is Jerry West. That idiot girl is Carroll Dawson.

You want it to be more (i.e. Mike Miller, Hakim Warrick) but you soon realize, you just got used and got left by the wayside.

The trade is Swift for Battier. Unsigned draft picks have no value in a trade.

It is weird we haven't heard/seen much from CD, Morrey, Les or JVG...or any of the players for that matter.

I wonder what Rudy Gay has even be told. Is he talking with the Memphis team? Is he allowed to? Is he looking for a house anywhere? Weird.

Gater, do any of our TE work for Mike Miller? That's the only thing I can think of. Since that would effectively be a completely seperate trade, correct, and truly neither team would be able to talk about it.

Sorry JayZ750, our largest TE is $4.2M and Miller will make $8.3M in 2006-07.

Its highly unlikely but if we got miller too this would be advantage rockets miller as the 6th man of the year has huge trade value if you could add miller as nothing more than trade bait you might be able to add larry hughes or a player of that caliber with some issues!

Tis what I thought, and with TE you can't include another player to make the salaries work, correct?

They're almost identical. It'll most likely be a straight-up deal when Battier's base year compensation status expires on the 12th.
