    The last thing the rockets need is to have another boring offseason like the last one they had. Their is probably know way the rockets could afford Miller so the only way to get him is sign and trade.

    Clippers sign and trade Andre Miller

    Rockets Trade Cuttino Mobley

    Im tired of Mobley and Francis having the ball all game and Andre Miller would be a good fit to play along with Francis in the backcourt.

    Miller averaged 6.7 assists last year. 1/2 assist better than Francis.

    overrated and too soft on D.

    Oh yeah, there is no way in hell we can afford him either.

    Biff's right, the boards were heated with yao talk last summer and it hasn't stopped since. I didn't think last summer was boring by any means

    If you think getting the #1, then going through the pains to get Ming into a Rockets uni is boring, not to mention getting Boki, then no one can help you.

    BTW, Miller will never be traded for Mobley. The salaries won't match (no way Miller will sign anything close to Mobley's cheap contract).

    Also, Miller has really proven nothing in Clippers uni. Francis is the PG for this team unless Kidd wants to come here :)

    Sure 2 seasons ago Miller lead with assists but he sure didn't keep it up. We are not talking about Stockton or Kidd here.

    Besides, from all the "wind" blowing around here, it sure feels like Mobley is not on the trading block.

    I would really like to get Andre Miller. Drewdog is abusing statistics, because his year at LAC is way down from his assists averages in Cleveland. At least he didn't use the "he's not a winner" argument though.

    S&T for Mobley seems very logical. Talent is about the same. I'd rather not have to give him up, but I wouldn't consider it a net loss.

    But if teams with cap space like Denver and Utah are interested, it may push Miller's salary further than we should pay. A contract starting at $5 million is a great pick-up. If he's starting at $7 though, I'd rather stick with Mobley.

    I think with Van Gundy in charge, Rockets will likely find someone in the backcourt who can play hardnosed D... Besides, Van Gundy likes Mobley very much & surely he'll give Mobley & Francis backcourt a try, so I don't see a trade for Andre Miller happening

    There's no way a player like Andre Miller ends up on the rockets roster for next year. Think smaller.

    Yeah, if the Rockets moved the team to Utah, we might have a chance. Miller is practicing in Utah this summer and I have a friend in Utah that says the papers there are saying Miller is in town looking for houses. It may be one of the worst kept secrets in the NBA this free agent season that Andre Miller is going to sign with the Jazz.

    I've got a way to get him!!!!

    1. propose a deal with the clippers, send them Mobley and Moochie for Miller and Marko Jaric;

    2. If it is not approved, fiddle with the deal some more, if necessary go to the options menu and turn on GM override;

    3. Once the trade is accepted, adjust your depth charts to put Francis at SG and Miller at PG

    4. Go back to the menu and pick "Save Roster" or "Save Franchise" and overwrite your last save

    5. Power down your PS2 or Xbox and voila, Miller is yours forever!

    Based on nothing other than blind intuition, I think Miller is a great addition. I have only seen him play a few times so this is again an uninformed opinion.

    Some "free agent wrap up" article suggested Miller would go for or around the exemption ($4.3?). Somehow that seems like a good deal to me. I have to feel he was overvalued after the big year at Cleveland. But I now suspect he is undervalued after being tarred by the Clipper (hey I need minutes, I am playing for a free agent contract next year) brush.

    I don't think he will be the next John Stockton, but he could be the next Mike Bibby. Six years at $30-35 million seems like a deal to me. I mean there has ben enough success to suggest some talent somewhere. Again like Bibby, the right team needs to be around him.

    But I'd take a flyer.

    Trade Cat for Miller and let Francis move to 2 spots. That will definitely work, but then again it's really up to JVG who stay and who should go!:D

    So you want to break up friends (Cat and SF) and have a backcourt who nearly came to blows?

    That would only work if Van Gundy can somehow get these two play some hardnosed D, which is on small task in itself...

    Exactly what I was thinking! These two get into it nearly every time they play each other. If you thought team chemistry was down before, let this trade happen and watch it hit an all time low.
