Besides his so-so outside shot in the series (whenever he gets one), he can't drive at all against Sasha. What is up with that? Surprised that pansy is taking him out of his element..... It seems like he needs to find some new weapons in his offense besides just putting his head down and driving to the basket. And his defense, well, that's an liability he really need to work on in the offseason.
He is like the rest of the team...inconsistent, and he thrives on confidence....and emotion, both of which were sort of gone last night. DD
What Von is doing now is probably the best case scenario coming into this season. Right now, he is trying way too hard to score points which is good but he is a ball stopper. If only he had passing vision to go along with that
He needs more minutes. As soon as it looks like he's got his rhythm in the game and makes a few shots he's pulled. I’d rather see Von with more minutes and Ron with less when it’s obvious that Artest is going to be jacking up bricks all night. I've seen Von start slow and then make a bunch in a row. When Artest’s shot is off...he's generally off the whole night.
the problem is that y'all expect him to be SUPER von, he's not super. He's a guy who's been cut from several teams over the years and can't play D and gets taken out of his game by pesky talkative defenders .
I figure it's just his numbers getting back to his averages. He is what he is. A player that can go off a game here and a game there. Expecting anything more, and giving him a moniker like Super Von, is hoping for something more. You have to be as close to consistent as you can be in the league. Scoring 10 consistently, means your teammates can count on you for that 10 points. Putting up 25 one night, and then a near goose egg the next is not what you want. Sure, you will have big games, and bad games, hence the averages. But the deviation from the average is what I'm talkin about here.
It all starts with our defense. If can't stop big guys from scoring easily, our mental energy will all be eaten out and offense will suffer.
Who is not trash in this team? Everyone in the starting lineup were demanded to be traded by the fans here at least twice. Trade Battier for Ariza... Trade Alston for Hinrich... Trade Artest for ... Trade T-Mac for ... Trade Yao for ... Trade Brooks for ... Anyone of the Rocket players will be traded by the fans after playing a couple of bad games. The clutch fans never show respect and appreciation to their players.
You got it right. Does other fans beside the Rocket's do this? The fans never believed in their players.
Only after he gets taken out of his game by pesky and talkative defenders.... Wafer has also become predicatable. Sasha perfectly timed his block last night on Von's Jumper. You know he's going to shoot if he gets even an inch of separation, you know he's not going to be aware of any shot blockers, he's in his own world. Sasha knew he'd go up, knew his shooting mechanics and jumped on it. Von's efficiency/% is also the greatest when the d is scrambling, when it's set he's much less likely to score. If no one else is a scoring threat then the D has no reason to scramble. With his bad D, he's a guy you want in when you have a lead, to push it. He's not mentally strong enough to be consistent with his scoring whether we're leading or not. He's better when we're leading. If we're not, he misses AND gives up shots, that's a recipe for increasing the deficit.
hi, that's the fun part of being fans, nothing to do with believed in players. what's the fun being sit there silently support your players with a pray after they just lost a game
last night he was 9-4 13 points ............ and adelman took him out so adelman wont let him play real minutes and now no garbage minutes ? mannnn wafer will be next rudy gay maybe even better
I haven't seen a guy so completely rattled by one particular defender as Von is by Sasha since Vernon Maxwell caused Dan Majerle to go back into his cocoon in 1994.
Actually he's been called "small-sized T-Mac" in China .He has the ability to create a chance to attack the hoop, but unfortunately ,he would never pass the ball ,Though he played shining offense in regular season against Lakers ,even got double-teamed ,even acquired kobe's praise......This is playoffs, everybody 's characters are highlighted on the opponent's booklet .We cannot ask a young man to do more in this level games. He need coach to help him get out of downturn. He is not KB ,LBJ ,He is a talent ,but not a leader !
I thought he's pretty consistent, good against Blazers and bad against Lakers. I just hope he can get at least one Brooks-ish game tomorrow or Sunday (I hope).
