As the title says, are there any superstitions that you guys follow while watching the Rockets? Although not that extreme, for the past two years in the playoffs, I’d wear a Tracy McGrady throwback jersey and sit and watch on the same tv and in the same spot on the couch. I’ve since discarded the jersey ;) and wear a 94 championship t-shirt which doesn’t really fit (and that’s being nice) and watch on a different tv. We’re 1-0 so far so I will definitely keep this going. Just wondering if there is anything the rest of you guys do???

Nothing special... I just watch the game with my pet lion and my pet alligator while eating strange foreign foods. Pretty boring, huh?

There's a lot of superstition going around, but it's just because we're so touchy about our recent playoff history.

Me and my friends have a myth that we ALWAYS lose games when we watch at a specific friend's house... so far it has held true. We lost both the Mavs game 7 and Jazz game 7 while we were there... I'm sorry guys, that room was responsible for those losses...

Haha, dammit ;) ... last years Jazz game, in all my drunken rage, caused the t-mac jersey to be "permanently retired", reverse the trend!!

Superstitions? I feel like every time i watch a Rockets game on ESPN, we're gonna lose. For example, during the Detroit game, we started losing on ESPN, so I switched it to FSN and we started winning. I switched back and forth a few more times and (in my mind), the trend continued.

I gotta have the homers announcing a game.

Agreed on that one, even with Clyde sapping the entertainment out of the arena... I love the homerism, at least I know if we're winning we're dominating and if we're losing we're getting screwed and that is good enough for me.

Back during the 95 run, I had a bunch of Rockets stuff in my bedroom, posters, magazines etc . . . a Rockets altar. I was 14 at the time.

Before each game I'd touch it all and then watch, then we repeated as champions. It was silly, but I had to do it.

If I'm not at the home playoff games, I'll typically just watch while texting everyone throughout the game.

lately i've been switching channels whenever possible. if i'm on espn and we start to trailing, i'd immediately change it to fsn/my20, even if jvg is commentating; and vice versa. if one channel "works", i'd stick to it.

that's about it for me. so far it's been working, though.

but since we're on nbatv tomorrow and i don't have that, i'd lose my options.

maybe i should go the tc...

I don't shave while the Rockets are still in the playoffs. This is a must, but I may look like Osama Bin Laden if the Rockets make it to the finals.

I wear my Hakeem Jersey (non-replica :p ) during each game. It's worked so far..might as well continue.

I sprinkle the blood of a dead virgin over the top of my tv prior to the game. Why do you ask?

I used to do that but it stopped working so I had to change my strategy.

I haven't had a haircut since T-Mac called it off for the season. The team has been playing great since then. I used to have a crew cut thing going on. I'm not going to get a haircut (despite the wife's complaints) until the Rockets play a terrible game and have an ugly loss.

We should all get the Von Wafer haircut if the Rockets make it out of the first round.

You'd better. Otherwise, "it's on you."

Since I believe the team I am rooting for will always lose when I watch them play, I've decided to skip the whole seires to make Rocket win!!!!

What a huge sacrifice by me!
