Here is the ESPN Story from today:
Tellem says Harrington ready for new offers
    http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2544296

Looks like the Indiana deal fell through. Any chance we could do a Howard/Head trade for Harrington? I think we get more athletic with Harrington as our PF. He's should be able to grab alot more boards with Yao in the trenches with him.

Ideally Battier would play SF and T-Mac SG but I know that everyone says T-Mac can't/won't play SG.

No we should be looking at perimeter defenders, not Al Harrington. Our perimeter defense is still woeful (Shane Battier is not a backcourt defender, Snyder has ways to go).

Al Harrington would be a great pickup for the PF spot, but I don't think we have any room.

I'd trade them Battier for Harrington. Of course, that's not going to happen.

Ok i saw this on another baord, want to see what ya'll think...

    1-Harrington for Howard/Head
    2-Childress for 4.2 TE

I'm not sure if Childress is worth the TE, but if you think about it they are only 2 trades because you can't mix TE's and players. Over all it would turn out to be Harrington/Childress for Howard/Head/4.2 TE. We get a perimeter defender in Childress (who at one point or another everyone was high on) and a PF in Harrington. The hawks get the TE, a very good prospect in Head, and Howard, a veteran PF. PLease be kind...

Hawks won't take on JHo because they only want to make short-term deals right now with the state their ownership is in. They would be interested in Head and the TE, but we'd have to throw in more to get Harrington.

If we can give Atlanta the TE for Childress, I would go for it. His stats on 82games.com look good, and he's got good size for a guard. 10 pts/5 reb a game would be good for us from the 2 position. Not to mention 49.2% from 3pt land last season. Somehow I don't see ATL giving this up though.

Why do people think Howard/Head is worth so much?

It's getting annoying really. People think we can get anyone who's salary matches for Howard/Head.

Its not that people think Howard/Head have great value, but its all bout needs. Some teams wouldn't mind getting Head (that was my first joke :D ) a backup combo guard with great prospect. Some teams might want Howard as a backup PF to get a smaller contract compared to who they have now (Golden State, Portland). Some may have a thin frontline, and some have a lousy back court. However, I think together their positives are greater than their negative, again for certain teams.

    The answer to the thread...NO!

howard and head is all we got left that's valuable to other teams. Not they are anything great.

I would love to have AL playing the 4, as he could be what we been trying get out from swift. However, I think realistically we may need a 3rd team involve.

If AL falls thru having childress isn't a bad idea for our 2. both are great ideas. I am jsut hoping CD or morey would pull the trigger. i still think we got a gap at the starting 2 (if tmac isn't playing), or a strong backup 4 (if battier our starting 4) with the two different set of starting lineup.

    1. alston, t-mac, battier, *AL, Yao
    2. alston, *childress, t-mac, battier, yao

first scenerio is better as all we need was to land AL
second scenerio which will pit us for a starter SG and a decent big backup at the 4 who can take punishment away from Yao.

I like Battier more than Harrington. Battier suits better with Yao n Tmac because of his overall play and he is the perfect role player to surround superstars. I think Harrington is still looking more to get to his superstar status rather than winning right now. Also if Rox manage to do jho/head to get harrington then ill go for it....but i dont know how rox can play tmac/battier/harrington at the same time.

I think that's ridiculous. Luther Head does not make up for Howard's big contract and HUGE suckiness. Head wouldn't be enough for someone to let us give Howard away. How can we expect to get someone like Harrington in return as well?

    Agreed.

Howard's trade value is nil at best. Head's isn't great.
