Aside from this board, are there any freakin' Rockets fans in Houston ? You would think after this road trip & the exciting game yesterday that you would be hearing SOMETHING out of people. But all you hear on Sports Radio is Texans this & Reggie Bush that & The Astros failed to get Nomar, etc.. I know that Football is King in Houston, but why can our Rox seem to get no love in Houston Ok, sorry about the soapbox guys, but I don't seem to know of any other Rockets fans to vent with about this...
I guess they make for a much less interesting topic for talk radio than either the Texans or the Astros. No biggie though, there are plenty of Rockets fans, believe me, but probably more who live outside of Houston than in Houston, or at least that's the feeling I am getting after watching us play in a hostile arena after another and seeing a bunch of die-hard Rockets faithful in the stands. I have an idea: let's move the Toyota Center outside of Houston, then we might get more fans
This drives me nuts. Who gives a care that the Houston Texans might just lose their chance to draft the #1 pick by winning yesterday. That's all the Houston media can think of: Next year's Texans. Meanwhile, the Rockets just had the most successful 6 game road trip in team history and it gets mentioned like this: In NBA Action last night, the Spurs lose to the Hornets and the Rockets win in LA. What a bunch of crap.
Rockets should move to Oklahoma City after Hornets come back to New Orleans. OKC is a real basketball city. By the way, I am living in Oklahoma, but I went to Dallas and Houston four times last two years only for Rockets' games.
610 is a horrible radio station, plain and simple. I hate Dallas, but man we need to copy their radio format.
ya tell me about it. astros run is over. why do we have to talk bout clemens everyday?? cant we wait till april. texans are done. heck they were done after the first game. every time i switch to 610 or 790..all i hear is about bush and their offensive line. hellooo theres a basketball team here that just started their season and are struggling. and we are not even out of the playoffs run. only 3 under .500 (that should get us 9th spot). its pointless. so i just stopped listening. couple of guys i talked to said oh regular games are boring, we will wait till playoffs. kind of like how the entire city became baseball fans. i am sure some of them didn't know what a home run was.
Agree, more die-hard types I guess. Still, in the fourth largest city in America, it shouldn't be so hard to fill up that arena every night. Even the bandwagoner fans in Los Angeles fill up the Staples Center, even though everyone knows LA is not a real sports town, because most people there are apathetic to sports except when they know one of their teams is about to win it all. BTW, SR610 opened their show today with mostly Rockets talk, and I think they will continue to talk Rockets for now. So tune in if you want to hear some Rockets talk, although when Charlie comes on at 3pm tune in to his show, he's much more knowledgeable and insightful than Marc Vandermeer or Rich "Amateur Journalism" Lord.
Man, even Charlie Palillo is dragging on about the Texans. Right now they are talking about Mclane buying Roy Oswalt a tractor...5-1 road trip ? Hello ?
If you want any Rocket talk, do NOT listen to John and Lance in the morning. Jeremy had a nice little piece with a couple of interview soundbites for his little intro, but after that, it's all Texans and Astros all the time. They talked more about Nomar than the Rockets this morning.
Exactly, only the die hard fans like us stick with them through the thicks and thins of the season (do you blame them though). Come playoff time, all the bandwagon fans will come out of their caves and fill up the bars. Clutchfans is die hard though baby!!! Go Rockets!!
well thats how it is when you play an 82 game season. Much of the hype and talk comes after the all-star game. Every year not just year. Also whats all the excitement supposed to be about ....OOOO WOOWOWOWW they went 5-1 on a road trip. Lets bring in the Larry O'Brian Trophy
The Rox were getting dissed at the beginning of the season for their record, now, they are improving so the compliments are coming. Nothing wrong with a little excitement!!
