I'm a computer game fanatic and have become bored with my current game (World of Warcraft) Just wondering if anyone else out there knows of some good Mass Multiplayer Online games. I've debated purchasing Aion but have yet to do so. Any recommendations ?
It's coming to both systems. There aren't many MMO RPGs on consoles. Not sure how many ppl here will be able to help you.
Really? I just went to the site: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/ and clicked on about and it said that it's coming to PS3 and PC platforms. I remember it had to do with LIVE and SquareEnix contract issues or something but maybe it's resolved recently. Other than WoW I have tried; Lord of the Rings Online Age of Conan Warhammer Online Aion None really compare to WoW. LoTRO is probably my second favourite. But I'd suspect like almost everyone else...you'll give another MMO a go and go back to WoW within a couple of months.
Yea I have just ultimately become bored with the game, but I don't want to invest in one of the games you listed just to quit after a week or so.
Sadly pretty much everything out will be a letdown compared to WoW in everything except maybe graphics. It's still the best out there probably. If you are into PVP and a real deep economic system, try playing EVE. You'll have to use your brains as well as get caught up in in-game drama playing it, though. I was hoping Aion would be good, but it gets mixed reviews.
Surprised no one has mentioned Everquest and Everquest 2. The original is for hardcore players only. It takes alot of time to get to a level where you can begin raiding. Once there thats when you really start playing that game. Everquest 2 has improved alot since release and it may be what you are looking for.
I like WoW and still play it. Aion got boring really quick for me. So did City of Heroes. I've been playing Global Agenda the beta version recently...it's pretty cool although it's a FPS with some RPG elements to it. The game is set to release Feb 1 and the beta still has some work to do, but it's pretty cool.
Yea thats the primary one i'm waiting out for. I never really played Star Wars Galaxies but I heard it was awesome when it came out.
For better or worse, this thread inspired me to re-install City of Heroes. Here's to hoping that I don't get addicted again.
