There may be some CBA players that deserve a spot in the NBA. They could make hell of a contribution.

Except for Rice,we've got a roster full of young, developing players and every position seemingly taken care of plus some depth. We want to get back to the playoffs. Why would we want another draft pick next year?

I agree SA Rocket. We do not need anymore young, developmental players from the draft. Our team is already young enough as it is! We need to wait and let the immature, yet talented players on our squad grow into their own games and reach their potential before we add any more youth to the table. Mainly, of course, we have to let EG, Boki, Morris, and Ming mature as players, before we can see how talented this team really is.

The only positions we might need to add, via free agency, is to the back up point and shooting guard positions (hopefully with a young, solid , and cheap veteran). Moochie isn't suited for the main backup to Franchise, and we need a taller, well-rounded shooting guard that can provide a spark off of the bench.

Why? Mobley, Francis, and Moochie score enough out of the guard slots to where we don't need another guard coming off the bench to shoot. IMHO, Hawkins is exactly what we need at the backup shooting guard. Someone who plays good defense and shows just a wee bit of hustle.

I for one wouldn't mind having a better back up point gaurd that pushes the ball up the court. I think either Ridnour or Ford would fit that bill nicely.

T.J plays like a veteran even though he's in college. He handles the ball very well and has the smarts. We need a consistant PG like T.J. I would give up Maddox,Norris, and Thomas just for T.J.

    Puh-lease.

What non-lotto draftee would help this team more than the development of the players we already have? What glaring holes do we have?

any draft pick we ended up with would be bench fodder.

keep KT. No one would give a good pick up for Mooch, so it's not even worth debating about.

Oh, I doubt TJ is coming out this year, but even if he did, he's lotto material, and the rox wouldn't get a whiff of him, esp as a backup pg, lol, sure.

TJ would be sweet. Chances are that he wont be a Rocket, but he is a pure point guard and he would help out our team tremendously.

I think we have one, his name is Hawk, he is 6'7, thats tall, and he is verstile, he can play the 3 and the 2, I think he solves our problem, the man is a "rookie vetern"

Too bad Derek Harper is 52 years old. Id love to have him on this team as a backup 1/2 guard. If we have to every replace Moochie, I wouldnt want another young point guard. I would want a veteran guard who plays good D and has a decent shooting touch. None come to mind right now. :(

The Rockets should look to unload Rice. I don't see what purpose he serves? Vetern Leadership? I think Francis has that role now. There's no minutes for him, and well, he's old and will be of no use in a few years.

Why not trade him and get something of value while he still has some? Send him to a contending team that needs a shooter?

For a good backup SG who can still light it up...Jim Jackson...he would be a perfect backup capapble of getting hot and putting up big numbers off the bench

I kinda want Mobley to be our backup SG. I rather have a defensive player like Hawkins start on the SG and have Mobley coming off the bench. Then you can switch Hawkins to the SF. I think Mobley plays better and has more control when he comes off the bench like a few years back.
