Just curious if there are any big-time Pearl Jam fans who also happen to be big-time Rockets fans. Am I the only one?
I like 'em....not a big time fan though. I saw 'em in Nacogdoches of all places. It's been a long time since you've posted.....ironically, I remember someone saying that whenever they saw your username, their brain told them they were seeing "Jeff Van Gundy" instead of "Jeff from Vandy." A bunch of people chimed in and agreed. That was.....how many years ago?
I just picked up Live from Tokyo the other night...I dig it. Unfortunately, I think I may have ordered the same one from Columbia House too. Oh well. ric's a big Pearl Jam fan.
Oh, its been quite awhile. I have popped in from time to time to read, but it's amazing how your free time dissapperas once you get done with college! Let's see, it must have been 98? Definitley when it was cc.com istead of .net.... *** Funny side note... I posted last week for the first time in a looooooong time and my signature was something like,"Langhi is still pissed that Vandy didn't make the big dance!" Whats was that like 4 years ago! I got a kick out of that. Jeff from Vandy... not to be confused with JVG
<--- PJ & Rox fan here! Seen PJ: 2001 Lubbock, 2001 Albuquerque, 2003 Houston btw, if anyone cares...this is Chris, orginal Clutch Crew member since BEFORE .com days, when it was run on David's wife's college server in Boston
I liked PJ's early albums a lot better than their latest ones. At first they were like a cross between Soundgarden and Neil Young, but then they turned into this baffling cross between a retro cover act and a Ticketmaster protest rally. It all went downhill from there. ...sellouts. By the way, anyone ever hear of the group Broken Social Scene?
I'm a huge Pearl Jam fan. I've seen 'em 4-5 times. Hoping to catch them this time through, too! Their early albums are definitely their best, but their last few have been underrated. They're no longer superstars or anything, but they're still one of the best rock bands around.
Damn right..... VS. is, (in comic book guy voice) BEST ALBUM EVER! Ten kicked @$$ as well.... then they got away from their grungy Seattle roots and discovered by taking out most of the distortion and raw energy out of their music they would appeal to the large soulless masses and make heaps of money. F**K them and mainstream music, support local bands.
i like them but their last album sucked, their earlier stuff is great Alive Jeremy Even Flow Black Corduroy Daughter Betterman Light Years Yellow Bedletter to name a few
if yall think PJ are sell outs, then yall arent really PJ fans...they are anything but sellouts.... how can you say they changed their music to sell more CDs when their sales have gone down down down ? They don't play to the radio fan at their concerts, they release bootlegs of all their concerts..they dont do interviews, very rarely do they put out a video..they are anything but sellouts
I know, I was just joking. Maybe this'll help to understand: http://bbs.clutchcity.net/php3/showthread.php?s=&threadid=59394 It's true though, I really don't like their music that much anymore.
ahh, gotcha, didnt catch any sniff of sarcasim in your post *shrugs* but i agree, their new stuff isnt as good as their earlier albums..but they can still rock, their recent show @ The Woodlands was great.
