Yes....this is a nerdy thread.... Any of you guys play pc games? There are so many threads on Consoles etc, got me thinking if any of you game. (use teamspeak etc.? ) If you do game....what games? I play Counterstrike source, Age of Empires III and War Chiefs, Flight Simulator X, and occasionally some Call of Duty 2 and Battle Field 2. Do you have an xfire account? Whats your name? mine: uprising3k What's in your system? Here's mine: Intel Core 2 duo E6400 OCZ DDR2 800 2GB ram Asus P5N-e SLI mobo nvidia 8800 GTS graphics card
Athlon 64x2 3800+ 2 GB Corsair TwinX @ 5400 Gigabyte M59SLI 2x BFG 7600GT I play World of Warcraft, Counter-Strike: Source, StarCraft: Brood War alot but I also play random single player and FPS like CoD2 and Battlefield. I have my own Vent server. No console games for me except Twilight Princess and Guitar Hero 2.
Not a terribly big PC gamer, but I do play (or have played) a few in the past couple of years. Athlon 64 3500+ ASUS A8N5X mobo 2g G.Skill ram (1g x2) ATI X800GT video card (purposefully got a budget card while I wait for DX10) and I own: Call of Duty NBA Live '04 (juuust before it totally went to ****) Madden 2005 Still Life Myst: Uru City Of Heroes Oblivion Doom 3 Other than City of Heroes (exclusively online) and a little bit of Call of Duty, I haven't really been much of an online PC gamer. No CounterStrike or War Craft for me. There's no particular reason for that though...I just haven't. What's the next big thing in that area? I might try to get into it since I won't be so late to the party.
I love to game, but my Machine is in need of an upgrade. I have P4 2600 1.5 gigs or ram ATI RAedeon 1300 or maybe its 1800 Pro I play Everquest II I used to play EQ 1 and Star Wars Galaxies When Vangaurd comes out next week I will get a station pass and play those games again. I am really excited to play Vanguard, especially once all the bugs are worked out. Until recently I played some WoW as well. It is a good game, but I just think Everquest and Everquest 2 are better games, at least for my style of play. WoW has cartoony style graphics (intentionally. They are good but just not what I prefer) WoW does a lot of hand holding, and death penalties are very minimal, so that death isn't that big of deterent. It makes the game not so challenging, though there is a ton of content out there. Flight simulator X Elderscrolls GTA III - San Andreas Medieval Total War - a little Civilization IV. My time is very limited so I don't play many of these games extensively. I would really like to take about 3 or 4 days and do nothing but play games. I just need the time off from work, and for my wife to agree that I don't have anything else I will need to do during that time off.
Opty 185 Asus A8N32-SLI 2 x XFX 7900GT 4 GB Corsair XMS PC-3200 DDR So you're telling me there are other games other than World of Warcraft??
Hey franchiseblade, what server were you on in EQ1? I'm really looking forward to getting vanguard after I get my gaming PC built.
That is a good question. I think I started and played mainly on Povar. I also played around with PvP, and the roleplay server. That one was good, but there weren't enough low-mid level players on it to get groups, so it halted my progress. Their might have been one other server I played on. I will have to check when I activate my station pass. The specs for Vanguard are pretty big, but luckily the release version specs are signicantly less than the beta specs. I will be inheriting my wife's old machine for that one which is slightly better than mine, and I will be upgrading the video card to a Nvidia GE Force 8800. With the other limitations the machine has it will put me in moderate to mid settings I believe. The game should be fun, and has a lot of promise.
The only PC games I play right now are Battlefield 2, Phantasy Star Universe and San Andreas Multiplayer. I tried playing CS: Source but the game is too frustrating for me. 6600 GT video card. I hardly ever sign on XFire anymore, but my user name is updawg on there.
I have a laptop and it runs games like WoW, BF2, and CoD2 on medium to low settings but it overheats after about 1+ hour of gameplay. ATI Radeon 9600 Pro Turbo Intel M 1600+ 1 Gig Ram (2 DIMM)
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ (Overclocked to 2.4 GHz IIRC) Nvidia GF 7900 GT (Overclocked to 550MHz) 2GB RAM (forgot what type...too lazy to look) I got the system to play Oblivion for the most part. It also was nice to play some older PC games (HL2, UT2004, Quake IV, etc.) at max settings with a great framerate. I just started checking out the HoMM V demo, and I think I might be hooked on that franchise again. I also played around with some PS2 emulation too, which was kind of neat (although far from practical at this stage). I don't play games online. Maybe later this year I'll give it a shot.
AMD Athlon 1.6 GHz CPU 1.5 MB RAM ATI Radeon 9800 Pro Yeah, my computer is crappy, but I hardly play anymore due to school, anyway. When I do have the time, I usually play Battlefield 2 or Planetside. I'm going to build a new badass computer this summer when I finish school and get a job.
For you guys that play CSS etc. We have a site, and a server up and running. http://BCgamers.net We have a teamspeak server up and running too if you have a mic etc. We generally play AOE3, CSS, BF2, etc.
I enjoyed battlefield, even though I was terrible at it when playing online. I will probably eventually try BF2
i play on a laptop, 1.86 GHz centrino nvidia 6800 1 gig ram. games: Battlefield 2142 Battlefiel 2 (a tiny bit) Star Wars battlefront 2 CS:S F.E.A.R multiplayer ( a tiny bit but might pick up soon) Diablo 2:LoD ( not really) i am really excited about Halo 2 and Quake Wars, those games looks like its gona put PC gaming back on its track. EDIT: might get DoD:S soon. xfire:xenochimera.
