I thought for sure that after the World Basketball tournament Ming would fly to Houston for a press conference and sign his contract. But I guess he is back in China.

Anyone have any idea when he will be signed? Seems like a lost opportunity for the Rockets to not have had a press conference in Houston while he was here in the US.

I guess he won't be back until the middle of October.

You need to keep reading the BBS Forum. This Thread was not needed. I have been posting on this very subject over the last 5 weeks!

Actually, Ming has some issues with Rockets management as to what the direction of the team is. He's also not happy with the drafting of Nachbar and thinks the Rockets should trade him for two of his Chinese national team teammates...

    More to come...

You should follow your own advice since Jeff posted this...

...one day before you posted your When? thread.

There is nothing to discuss. He will sign when he signs. You don't know when. I don't know when. The President doesn't know when. Speculating(errr "discussing") the date is moot. He'll sign sometime between today and mid October. That is all you need to know.

Yetti, I do read this forum as much as possible but I don't catch everything. I usually look at thread titles and if one does not catch my eye I don't read it. The thread that RocketsPimp lists below from you has a subject title of "When?". "When" What? I probably would have read it if it was more descriptive but since it wasn't I skipped by it.

I did see Jeff's post about what the London Times said about Ming signing this week but nothing has been reported in Houston yet about it so who knows?

I just wanted to bring up the fact that it seemed like a lost opportunity for the Rockets while Ming was in the US for them to sign him and have a press conference or something.

I really don't think my post bringing up this fact is a waste of time. So back off, ok?

    Here is more:

Ming's real goal is to join WNBA. He thought the draft was taken by a WNBA team.........

Now, he knew he was hurt, he is ready to quit.

I'm going to extrapolate from the comments that the answer is "No, there is no news on when he is going to sign."

    There that was simple.
