If so, I've got a question. My wife and I do a lot of business with our bank. We filled out an application to get pre-approved for a home loan. The consultant with the bank let us know on Tuesday that he got the application and would get to work on it. Then, my wife gets a call today from the guy who says he left the bank to work independently and took our information with him. He wanted to quote it on his own. My first and only thought is...Why the hell did this guy get to take our personal information with him when he left this job? Is this common and allowed practice? If something should happen, can I hold the bank responsible for letting this guy walk out the door with some pretty important info? Just seems strange that it happened like this. Did he just up and quit today? If he gave notice, why the hell did they give our application to him? I'm not feeling too comfortable that this random person has our info. I had a feeling we should have done this in person.
My wife is a realtor and has a real good mortgage person she works with all the time. She has low fees and great service. Most times she even shows up to the closings. I just sent you an email through the board.
sounds kind of odd. I would definitely check into it before trusting him the rest of the way. Question him and the bank more until you are comfortable. Drop him if you aren't 100% comfortable, their are plenty other people out there to give you a mortgage
Not odd at all. Most MC's or MCB's try to take their clients with them. That's why when someone gets a job going from one bank to another, we don't accept 2 weeks in most cases so they don't have the time to contact and try to take their clients with them.
