I had the opportunity to watch Gerald go up against Rashard in the Fonde Summer League. He played well and was very quick. He wasn't as tough as he needs to be but he shot the rock well. He needs to pick up his defensive effort.

I think he's a keeper in the league and can give us a young wing to develop with Landry, Scola, and Brooks. Bonzi is fading fast. I think Kirk or Novak would be perfect trade bait. Minnesota didn't pick up his option.

Those summer league games were great. I went to watch the games where Luther Head played with D-Will. I'm even on some of the pictures from the ProCity website lol.

We went after him in the draft HARD. Rockets management was pretty open with their disappointment that we couldn't move up to get him.

I saw a fair amount of him last season while losing with the C's. The kid's got game. But, his game is not ripe, not prime time yet. Supposedly he and TMac have a relationship, hve worked out together etc.

I'd love the Rox to get him (for Hayes, straight up?) and see if they can mature his game in practices etc to be re-signed for a productive hometown Rox career.

I think he would be a fit for with another athletic 6'8" guy to develop his defensive skills by practicing with Shane and learning low post skills from Bonzi.

This would partically make up for the Rudy Gay fiasco.

You mention him benifitting by possibly practicing with Battier... then mention a Rudy Gay fiasco?

    Double standard.

I would love to see him in a Rockets uniform, trading mike james or kirk snyder for him would be great......but would it jam us up at the 4 spot, what position would he play?

What I mean is learning the defensive skills of Battier, since Green is lacking in that area. I think Shane would be great teacher in that area. The Rudy Gay fiasco is the trading for Battier but now that Battier is here his defense on the top player of the other team is his best asset. Plus Green could pick up on Shane's high Bball IQ.

Isn't he a bit headcase? Also I want a defensive swing man which he isn't.

He wants a trade because he wants playing time, i don't see him getting any here. Bad idea to trade for him also because he becomes a FA after this season, so we might even have a chance to sign him instead, because MIN is certainly not gonna want MJ back.

jim petersen, the play by play guy for the Pups, said he lacked defensive principles and doesn't know how to play within himself.

I'm reading that as he's just not getting it on how to play in the NBA. Plenty of athletic talented guys in the NBA that can't learn how to play in the NBA and therefore sits in the end of the bench, he seems just like another one. It's looking like he'll be just another waste of talent, dime a dozen in the NBA.
