I'm addicted to Dr. Pepper and even though I manage to still stay in rather good shape, I'd like to try and cut out some of the calories by substituting a diet soda once a day or whatever. The problem is that I can't stand Diet Dr. Pepper, so I was wondering what other kinds of diet sodas you guys drink. I don't necessarily need something that tastes like the original drink as long as it doesn't taste like ass. Any suggestions?
Diet Sprite Zero, Diet RC, Diet 7UP, Coke C2, Diet Cherry Pepsi Diet Dr. Pepper tastes like regular Dr. Pepper?
Personally, I think diet Dr. Pepper is the best diet soda there is. Diet Cherry Coke is good. Also the Coke "Zero" product is not too bad.
Not to me, and I feel like I would know. I bet my blood probably consists of about 40% DP at this point in my life. I'm drinking a diet Sunkist right now and it's pretty damn good. Any other diet fruit flavored sodas out there that are good?
I substituted soda for water about 3 months ago... I would say that substituting for water is the best thign to do.
if you want to not only cut out the calories but cut out the nasty way that cola stains your teeth try Sprite Zero or Sierra Mist Free.. lemon/lime sodas are easiest to replicate in diet form, imo.
Haven't tried the Vault Zero yet, but I like plain Vault. I'll give that one a chance. Thanks. Good point. I'm amazed my teeth aren't brown after all these years of daily soda binging lol. In fact, they're pretty white. I guess it's a good thing I don't smoke or drink coffee or I'd probably be f_cked.
I heard that the dark diet soda's, although calorie/carb free, affect your metabolism and that drinking diet sprite or 7up is actually better. I've been drinking about 2 diet cokes every day at work. I might have to try diet sprite instead.
Diet Dr. Pepper is one of the best diet drinks out there, as far as tasting the most like the original. If you don't like it, you're probably going to have a hard time with any of them. You probably should quit real sodas cold turkey for several weeks, and drink something else. After awhile, try a diet DP. You may find you like it more than you thought. That's what I did, a long time ago, although I'm more of a Diet Coke fan. What I did for years was drink fruit juice and sparkling water. Try grape juice and sparkling water, for example. It's pretty good, and a lot better for you. I kinda got out of the habit, sadly, and more into diet sodas. I need to get back to what I used to do.
Nutrionally, fruit juice can be just as bad as sodas. Heavy on the sugars, fracks with your blood sugar levels, insulin, etc. Just stick with water and milk.
I didn't use that much juice. It was 3/4 sparkling water and 1/4 grape juice (or even less juice). Sadly, as I've gotten older, milk has become a little hard on my insides. It's strange, because I can drink a malt and have no problems, but milk, and milk with cereal (which I used to have a lot for breakfast) doesn't work for me. It's really a bummer, and a bit strange.
not only that, they give me a killer headache.. caffiene sucks the big one.. those drinks are all caffiene free.. refreshing.. and dont make you feel like you just drank a bucket of tar.
coke zero and diet coke with lime are my only two soft drinks now. i think they both taste really good.
I have been on a major Fresca kick lately and since there is no non-diet Fresca there is no taste to miss. Better yet, they released a Black Cherry Fresca - that stuff is so freaking good. They make great mixers too. Nothing better than a Black Cherry Fresca with some Tito's Handmade Vodka. Thank me later.
Those Lipton Green Tea To Go packets that you can just dump in a .5L water bottle are pretty awesome. Same with the Crystal Light.
