Hey, just was wanting to mess around with mixing some different sounds in maybe 4 channels, nothing fancy at all, just like a mic in and the ability to mix a few tracks together.

Anyone know of any simple little free versions of mixers on PC?

Don't need/want anything fancy or terribly complex, and the idea of having to go buy something just to mess around with something for a few hours is not appealing.

Message me through the board, sir.

EDIT: Have you tried Sony Vegas?? What about about ACID Pro? Or is that too consumer-ish for your taste?

I've dragged channels into a mix just for video. I think it does a decent job for audio only and it can output in a good range of audio formats.

Honestly I have no idea. I just got it in my head that it might be interesting to try mixing some recorded audio together, like I said, nothing complex (at least I wouldn't think so). I just know the few times I have been in stores and seen audio progs, they look crazy complex and really expensive.

I will give a look-see at Audacity and also send you a msg as well for your valued input, Sir.

Audacity can mix, but it's not as robust as commercial stuff. It's limited, but it's decent.

Check out some YouTurds on what peeps are doing with Audacity and other mixing software. Search for "mixing channels audio", I believe, and you'll get some nice results.
