Okay. Need some help. I recently had a little growth removed from my leg. Nothing major. Little two inch cut, stitched, everything cool. So I got my stitches removed, and a duoderm patch placed on the cut. So that night, it pussed really badly. So i was like okay... so as soon as I took off the duoderm i put some Hydrogen Peroxide on it and put a bandage on it. I kept doing that over the past couple of weeks. It has gotten steadily worse. Now i have a circle of a wound where the cut didnt close right. There is like a rim where the good skin meets the gross wound area, kinda looks like a volcano. It was scabbing a little bit until last night when my mom put some herbal junk on it and it took the scab clean off. Now its just a raw gaping wound. Any suggestions?

BTW I just saw this at WebMD: Do not use rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, iodine, or mercurochrome, which can harm the tissue and slow healing.
    Whoops.:(

Were going to have to remove your leg because of an infection and gangrene setting in because you took advice from a doctor on a clutch bbs website.

How about going back to your doctor? It doesn't sound normal and no reason to sit it out waiting on a possible infection to get worse.

Sounds like infection. Seek professional medical advice. Its too late for surface antibiotics I would think - doctor will prescribe Amoxicillin.

Well I don't like going to the doctor Surf. Anything to not go. ;)

Im going to try some antibiotic and more bandaids. And hope it gets better by not using the peroxide I think. What makes this really bad is that I'm leaving for college Saturday.

you're gonna feel really stupid if you lose that leg.

I HATE to go to the doctor, and I avoid it like the plague.

That being said, I know when I have to go. You need to go.

    Sorry no digital camera.

After all this advice, I will probably give my doctor a call and see if he can provide over the phone advice. I will probably sidestep any talk of an office visit by fabricating some tale of really bad case of crabs or something of the like.

    Thanks guys.

Go to the Doctor. Infections are not to be triffled with, Nomar. As it is, you will have a scar far worse than if you had seen a Doc straight away. It's also cheaper than plastic surgery. Good luck! :)

Just to clarify.... I'm a Beatles fan, not a doctor. Do you have any red streaks on your skin that originate from the infected area? That means the infection is in your lymphatic system, which is very undesirable.

BTW, don't listen to Rockhead, I think he's drunk!
