Well after a little over a month since the release of their new album, they have already gone platinum (again). As far as people boycotting them, it seems like people still like them. I frankly don't care what they said or didn't say about "W." Face it, Bush has kinda sucked when it comes to Iraq, in my humble opinion. The Chicks have an opinion also, they just have a bigger platform than I do and got nailed for it. But, they seem to be back and are hotter than ever. BTW - I love their new single and think they are as fine as ever. After watching them on the Howard Stern show, I'm in lust with them.
To answer your question............ HELL NO!!! But they have done ok on there album sales, but have had to cancel several concerts in US due to bad ticket sales.........having to rebook them overseas.......so there has been some backlash, especially in the South.
I like a lot of their stuff. Especially the songs with themes of youthful independence and a sense of adventure, like Wide open spaces. I've listened to their new album and it basically continues their movement towards a more mainstream rock sound. But I'm not really wild about it. Only one song stood out, the one that's a reply to all the political controversy surrounding them. It has a pretty decent hook.
I've always like the Dixie Chicks but country is isn't my favorite genre of music so I never bought their albums, until now. I love the new stuff, even if its a progession into pop/rock/country (maybe that's why I like it more). Doesn't matter what they say, so long as they are given the outlet to say it. If people can't recognize that and still listen to their music with an open mind, then thats just sad. They had to cancel a stop in Houston; not suprised at all.
Natalie doesn't wear anything underneath which is kinda hot. The other one was in a threesome which is kinda hot.
Tell me more about these aspects. I don't like their music but I like them in that they are not afraid to express themselves at all.
I have not cared for them since "Goodbye Earl" came out. That got old quickly. The politics didn't help change my mind either. If I want to hear a country girl from Texas sing, I'll listen to my wife. The politics agree as well.
Yeah their Howard Stern interview was cool. The blonde sister was in a threesome and the the dak haired sister travels with a vibrator on the road...well they all do. Pretty hot stuff!
