I know that we dont have a first round pick this year but I would love to see the rox trade into the late first round for a chance at Kendrick Perkins should he enter the draft. Perkins is quite a bit like Curry from Chi who I think would be a great fit on this suad as well. I could easily see Perkins backing up the 4 and 5 for years. The guy is a giant, around 7' and 300 lbs., who plays in the post exclusively. Considering that he is a high school kid and from the Hou area I would have to think he would be worth any gamble we might make to get him (2 second rounders?). What do you all think? He is just a high schooler, but you cant teach size and he has it and he would have the chance to play without pressure for atleast a couple of years.
Yep dawg, you know your ****. Getting KP would be the shiznit! Imagine a frontline of the future: Ming-7'6'' 330 Perkins-7' 300 Griffin-6'11'' 250

If they did trade into the first round, I'd like to see them take Zarko Cabarkapa. This what nbadraft.net has listed in his profile: Zarko Cabarkapa Birthdate: 5/21/81 NBA Position: PF/SF/C Ht: 6-11 Wt: 220 European Team: KK Buducnost Hometown: Zrenjanin, Beopetrol Euroleague Profile Telebasket Profile Strengths : A versatile Power Forward with sensational fundamentals. Can also play either in C or cause headaches when used at SF. Very intelligent with great understanding of the game. Has a wingspan of a 7'1" man. He's a great talent with a good work ethic. Showed great improvement over the last 3 years. Has gained a bunch of experience that has resulted in maturity and given birth to leadership skills. Has tremendous ball-handling skills combined with quickness, great reflexes and court sense. Creates his own shots using his point-guard-like ball-handling skills, has a nice, hard to block, jump-shot with a quick release. Penetrates smoothly into the paint from both sides either finishing with a lay-up or finding the open man with an assist, even when faced with a double team. Great agility that causes problems against bigger bodies. He outruns his opponents. Very impressive in the open court, goes with great energy to the basket. He's not afraid of "traffic" in the paint. Puts up high percentages in shooting. He can shoot facing the basket, he can post up against smaller bodies, and can kill opponents with a long range shot... Defensively he is close to solid. He is keen on stealing balls and grabbing offensive rebounds for garbage points. Weaknesses : Classic Yugoslavian basketball body... Has to put on 25 pounds so to gain more space in the paint. Needs to work on his upper body to handle the strength of NBA players. He's not an overpowering rebounder nor a shot blocker. His hook shot needs polish. Notes: (Pronounced Tsab-'ar-kapa) I'm not really one to compare prospects to established NBA players, but this guy sounds alot like Notwitski. He is definitely a player to keep an eye on.
I suspect the 'braintrust' would prefer taking late 1st rounders in the 2nd round. Particularly projects. Better economics. Besides, how many roster slots are likely to be available? Colliers? (I think the Rox will live to regret losing him for nothing.) Who else? That leaves 13 guaranteed contracts.
Perkins could be good, if he improved his conditioning and gave a damn at all. Ndudi Ebi is who the Rockets should draft a few years from now. Once Boki proves to not be God.
