We still have roster spots, but we don't know if the management has something up in their sleeves or they just like what we have already. AG, Boki... If they don't, I wish they can bring him back.
I believe that CD and JVG have addressed this issue without saying "TMO will definitely not be back". In fact, they said as much when they did not pick up the team option. But if you still think there is something up their sleeves: my take is that comments made by CD, such as, "we are going to fill our bench with players that JVG feels will better support the starters" or "...provide something that's been lacking (TOUGHNESS).." imply that if they had interest in TMO they would have signed him. There is simply no reason to leave him out there, if they thought he could help them. One other thing, there is no more loyalty (maybe less) to TMO under JVG controls than any other unsigned FA.
T-mo blows. And I swear there have been waaaaaaaaaay too many threads on him. Someone even went so far as saying that he would be a starter in the NBA and an all-star in a few years . Its like the dude was the second coming of Jesus Christ - no wait that title goes to Tony Parker.
Is this a fill in the blank Dear Rock? Or maybe an old-school ad-lib. I love ad-libs: You will see how much they (a four-letter feeling) him if EG or MoT goes down. Potential responses: hate miss love boob
Yeah, Morris is a magnet for threads for whatever reason... probably because he was so successful his soph and (to a lesser extent) jr years in college. But face it, he ended up being a SF w/o either a great shot or outstanding athleticism. I could see him making a roster on some teams; his medium range jump shot wasn't really terrible and he did try to play defense... but he doesn't excel in any one area, and his all-round game... while great in college, doesn't cut it in the pros.
Yes, it's been beaten to death (along with a lot of other subjects... it's the offseason), but if the Rocks have an open roster spot after all is said and done, I'd like us to pick him up. I think he made some progress last season and could become a decent role player with time. Just my opinion.
Sorry. I meant to say we will see how much they miss him if MoT or EG goes down. Of course probably BAD can play some at PF.
Any idea when the pick we promised for him will be given? any restrictions protections, or anything that applies to that pick, i havent heard anything about it.
Detroit has yet to give their pick up to Sacramento, so they have to give up their comming first round pick. A pick quite likely in a range from 25-30 Sacramento receives Detroit's first round pick via Atlanta (2003 or 2004, Detroit's option) (Dickau 062602) (Turkcan) via Houston (Terence Morris trade 062701)
Terrence Morris 2002-2003 13 mins 46.59 FG% 78 FT% 2.6 rbs 0.5 asts 3.71 pts Behind Yao Ming, Cato, and Collier in FG% on the whole team. Those are pretty decent numbers for a backup 3. His only woe is 3 point shooting at 7-32 21.88%.
For a guy who was known as a "finished product" coming out of college, T-Mo improved quite a bit (IMHO, he improved more than any other player on the roster...). Again, for a guy who was know for playing "without fire" the guy improved quite a bit under a coach in RudyT who was known for his low pressure/friendly demeanor. I hope we get him back. I'd rather have him than Adrian Griffin, despite the fact that Griffin is a better player at this point. The potential as well as the cost for T-Mo are so high compared to what he is now, that I'll always decend into the "what if" nostalga if we don't keep him. The cost was so high, and the price would be so little.
Bring back teamplayer TRock! Third on the Rockets in overall FG % (not counting Collier who played in only a few games). Posters mentioned TMo's stats, but the only meaningful stat is a per minutes stat for a player with limted PT. At $.5M, TMo was a BARGAIN when compared to other $6-8M Rocket players who shot well under TMo. Terence played well for the San Antonio summer team, I guess the San Antonio jury is still out? FREDTERP
