So my car was towed yesterday, parked in my own residential garage. Uncalled for, but whatever. In fact, not even sure how a tow truck got in there (apparently the tow truck damaged the internal sprinkler system). Anyway, I get my car back from the towing company and find two tickets INSIDE my vehicle on my dash. The computer in my car said "Alarm triggered. Check Car". Evidently someone got into the vehicle (it was raining outside). The question I have is, who would have been the one who got into my vehicle: the officer who wrote the citation or the tow truck people? Second question: How did they get into my vehicle?? Third question: Can they really do that???
What are the tickets for? If there are two tickets.............then wouldn't it be for two separate things? Need more info.
One ticket is for failure to display a proper permit (it's an sticker designed to go on the rear windshield/bumper; I have it displayed in the interior of my rear windshield because I won't deface my car with any type of adhesive). The other ticket is for parking in an area that was not designated as a parking spot (now this is true and I cannot deny this, however there are multiple cars in the area at any given time; mine was the only one towed). The area has no signage regarding parking warnings, nor towing information. Ticketing began just yesterday inside the garage. I understand ticketing, but can't figure out why they towed the vehicle; wasn't blocking anyone nor considered a hazard. It was discretion invoked by that particular officer, and not by subsequent officers (since cars parked in the same spot since yesterday have either not been ticketed or have been ticketed, but not towed). When I approached a random officer after I got my car back asking him to at least clarify reasoning for ticketing/towing, he decided to get quite frustrated. Now I was calm throughout our little convo, explaining the situation, and ended up politely inquiring as to why he could not treat me with the same respect that I was giving him. He didn't like that; what is it with officer and sticks up their asses? ==== Oh, tickets were written simultaneously and car was towed within 30 minutes of the tickets being written (according to the paperwork); I guess the guy probably had nothing better to do. Again, this was night time in a residential parking garage.
Was you car nicer than the other cars? I personally have an issue with folx . . .cops or otherwise just tapsing through my car on a whim . .. esp when they don't have to Rights et al Rocket River
Well all officers are dicks, so it would do you no good to ask them for anything. You would be better off asking on here or a complete stranger on the street that atleast looked intelligent. The police are useless unless you are rich.
Well all the ones I have come in contact with always seem to have a problem. They are all bitter and always pissed. I don't see why, if all they do is sit around all day eating donuts and busting people for going one mile over the speed limit. In my neighborhood you never hear or see cops when you need them.
Agreed, that's all they ever do. Being a cop has to be the easiest, most stress-free job in the world. I have no idea why they're so understaffed. I guess just because they're all r****ded or something, I don't know.
Officers have no jurisdiction on private property they cant write u tickets in a private garage. If it was a rent-a-cop they could write u a ticket by means of the ownership(not a legal ticket worse they could do is comp your rent or refuse to let you park there)... they shouldnt have gotten into your car i dont think...Seems like breaking and entering
