This certainly goes along with what we have heard about Kubiak's coaching style, specifically that he never asks players to do things they are not good at or that they are uncomfortable with. The one thing Peek has shown in the past that he does really well is get to the quarterback. I suppose if he doesn't have a breakout season in 2006, he won't have anyone to blame but himself (assuming no injuries).

As far as the first round money thing, he was a restricted free agent and we gave him the first round tender (about $1.5 million I think) so that if he went to another team we would get a first round pick in return.

Babin will play on 1st and 2nd down at weakside DE, with Peak coming in during pass rushing situations. Peak has no skills stopping the run.

    The burning question is:

Will Antwan have more sacks or personal fouls?

    Neither does Babin. :(

Peek has all the tools to be a good DE, he is decent size and very good athleticism. As for Babin, I think he will be a big question mark at DE, while it's his original position, he doesn't possess the size nor the speed to be an effective pass rusher IMO.

Moving Babin and Peek back to DE means that we lack major depth at LB, including a giant hole at MLB right now.

Babin played as high as 285 in college, so size isn't an issue. He was also one of the fastest DEs at the Combine two years ago when he ran a 4.60 at 265 lbs. That's the perfect size, and great speed for a weak side DE.
