http://www.myfoxhouston.com/story/23313142/antonio-smith-forgives-richie-incognito-and-may "I came to terms with the whole situation, even the ankle situation last year and the numerous amounts of things that me and him have been into over the years. "The things that I'm focused on now will shock the world. It's given me like a reemergence. I'll probably thank him at the end of this season. I have a drive that I probably haven't felt in like years, a reawakening that I haven't felt in years." Anyone excited for the season?
If the fact that seeing JJ Watt, Cush, Reed, and Joseph on the same field didn't have you giddy, then yes, this would make somebody more excited. Antonio Smith is a stud; top 75 player in the league across all positions last year according to PFF. He is incredibly underrated.
Hope ninja kills it this year, as he's playing for a new contract. Probably won't be brought back in order to make room for Watt's upcoming extension. Joseph may also be a Watt extension casualty (maybe asked to take paycut), and Reed is almost for certain only here for a year.
I hope he can maintain his recent performances. The last 2 seasons were his best as a pro, and I only hope his age allows for a couple more years of that excellence. Let's hope he gets a respectable deal that doesn't harm the teams future cap flexibility.
I hope to see so many different variations of the Ninja death strike that I lose count. But yeah, Smith is underrated all over even among Texans fans which is a shame. Hopefully the front office knows his value and will resign him so that his last few seasons can end as a Texan. We missed out on Chester Pitts and DeMeco Ryans retiring here, we shouldn't let Smith go without proper considerations.
