Well the best thing happened today to me at the movies. I was going to a late show and wanted to watch the movie "Scary Movie". I was in line to get my drinks and popcorn and turn back to see who is behind me and its ANTONIO MCDYSS with a couple freinds. He said Hi and we started talking. First of all he lives in houston and he said he loves the weather here alot. ( I DONT KNOW WHY) Then I asked him if he would ever become a rocket and he said " I was very close to becoming a rocket, the only thing that set me back was because he saw no young talent that he could play with in the future. I asked if he was a free agent now would he sign and he looked at me and said " Ohh hell yes, houston has alot of young and exciting players". Then finally I had to stop talking to him cause I had to give my order , and I said Bye and left. So just thought I share my stuff to you guys. I have a feeling this topic is going to come with trades for Mcdyss.. DREW for MCDYSS? ------------------ "I talked about what degenerates they [Mets fans] were, and they proved me right. Just by saying something, I could make them mad enough to go home and slap their moms." John Rocker
"the only thing that set me back was because he saw no young talent that he could play with in the future." Geez... Matt Maloney's contract is going to find ways to haunt us forever, isn't it? Nice story! ------------------ WE WILL WATCH THEM FALL... next year, at least.
i saw carlos rogers at the movies once, but i didnt say hi to him or talk to him. hes really tall. *crickets chirp* ------------------ "Win the game, baby!" -Rudy T in the fourth quarter of game 4 of the 1995 NBA Finals
McDyess in Rockets pajamas...sounds good to me. ------------------ The more lefties on your team, the better. Collier is Seven Foot and Left Handed. How can you go wrong? Trade or bench Kenny Thomas. [This message has been edited by NIKEstrad (edited July 09, 2000).]
I saw Kenny Smith walking to his car from the movie theatre. I was already driving off but towards his direction and when i got parallel with him I yelled "hey kenny!!" and he kind of put his hand up timid like and waved. I guess I scared him and I guess he was thinking it was somone he knew b/c he seemed puzzled for a moment. Oh well. In regards to McDyess, I love that guy and we're are talking about perfect fit here but I can see y he didn't sign. We had Hakeem and Barkley already here and Drexler was retired. I mean we were younger then than b/f b/c we had Drew and Dickerson and Mobley but I guess he just didn't like our future prospects. I mean, Francis coming to us was just short of a miracle. I mean when he came, and Barkley and Dream were on their last legs, it was automatic to rebuild. I do feel for McDyess. The Rockets are doing in 2 years what many teams can't do in 5 and Denver hasn't been to the playoffs since early 90's right? So I bet he is kicking himself now, but knows that there was no way anyone could have predicted the Rockets would rebuild this well and this quick. Sorry Antonio. ------------------
We could have signed him instead of Pippen, but we chose Quitten because we already had Barkley and Dream. All he needs to do, is demand a trade, like Quitten did. ------------------ The more lefties on your team, the better. Collier is Seven Foot and Left Handed. How can you go wrong? Previously Posted by NIKEstrad: McDyess in Rockets pajamas...yummy. That was nasty.J/K Nike .Anyways, the reason why McDyess isn't a rocket or a sun is because he is to Denver as Rashad Lewis is to Houston. He has family there, he likes it there, and blah blah blah. The year he was a FA, he took less money to go to Denver and he probably doesn't regret it and he probably won't DEMAND a trade in the near future. As for him liking Houston, who doesn't? I mean, we're a young, exciting team witha bright future. Only a coupl of years ago, we were the oldest team in the league with 3 former Dream Teamers and a supporting cast that couldn't do anything but shoot 3's on Barkley and Dream's post-ups(that includes Scottie Pippen). MAJOR props to the Rockets GM for his moves of trading piippen and getting Stevie Franchise Rudy for his SECOND ROUND drafting (not gonna comment on his first round drafting). ------------------ "There are two rules for success... 1) Never tell everything you know."
I saw Roderick Rhodes in Kmart last Christmas. He was buying himself a brand new make-up mirror. ------------------
Nike, Rockets didn't have a choice tween the 2. AM wanted to be in Nugville. ------------------ My girl wants to ... party all the time! party all the time! party all the time!
He has family in Denver, but he actually lives here right ? ------------------ "Don't they get cable in Canada ?" Keith olbermann, after watching hakeem block terry catledge's shot 5 times.
I met Pat Riley a few days ago, didn't appear to have the stressed look of a guy trying to dismantle his team. But it was the fourth of July and he was on vacation with his family, so who knows what he's up to. ------------------
When I was in high school, I worked at a movie theatre, and from the concession stand I saw Moses Malone. Halfway through the movie he paid to se, he decided it sucked and he was going to switch auditoriums to see another movie, which my manager told him he couldn't do, he had to stay at the movie he paid for or pay for another ticket. This didn't make Big Mo happy. When my partner in the concession stand asked him for an autograph, all he got was: "F**K You." j ------------------
I met Allen Leavell (sp?) at the Astrodome. Try and top that! ------------------ "Stranger things have happened, but none stranger than this" - Commentator after a parachutist landed in the ring of a Holyfield fight

sauce, I met Leavell and Hakeem at a night club, I think it was in 1985 or '86. It is now called Willie Nelson's (I think) forget what it was called back then, but it was a rock-n-roll/dance club back then. ------------------ "When your dead, anything's funny."-John Lennon
