He just agreed to a 5-year deal worth 60 million bones with Toronto, according to David "Stoudamire-to-Houston" Aldridge.

Now all we need is Webber to stay with Sacramento to have a bunch of pissed off but quiet BBS'ers. [IMG]

Hmm, if Aldridge is reporting it, it must means negotiations have stalled! [IMG] Oh well, time to go after Nazr Mohammad and Marc Jackson! Maybe Brad Miller.

I blame Hakeem for this. According to a reliable source I know, Hakeem went over to the Rockets' offices and turned off their phones. He then hid Antonio's number and address. The Rockets were then paralyzed from talking to Davis, and he was left with no choice but to re-sign with the Raptors. Meanwhile Mo and Moochie are still left twisting in the wind.

To tell you the truth, if Aldridge isn't out of his mind again, I am very surprised that he isn't going to O-Town.

    ------------------
The media's Eddie Griffin NBA Draft player profile before he landed in the Rockets hands:

What he does: He was second in the nation in blocked shots and fifth in rebounds as a freshman last season; has good shooting range and even had a triple-double.
    Reminds people of: Antawn Jamison
What he would do for his team: He could play either forward spot and runs the floor. He'll give his team a valuble inside scoring threat.

The media's review of the Rocket's draft after they got Eddie Griffin:

I'd give their draft a B. Sure, Griffin was highly touted but his behavior and attitude can be a chemistry wrecker. Needs to bulk up more. Not exactly NBA-ready. Not the best choice for Houston.

It's very sad. The "wonderfully talented prospect" one second, but the moment the media learns he'll be a Houston Rocket, it's criticize-o-rama.

Contracts can only be signed on July 18th but deals are made before that date. This agreement reported by Aldridge clearly shows that. So Dream being unavailable does hurt the Rockets chances with other FA players. Until the situation with Dream is resolved Rockets management cannot make a serious offer to any FAs. Luckily, the current Rockets FA all have a strong desire to stay and this delay is tolerable for them.

DA is probably right about this one. I heard some reports yesterday from another guy that Davis was close to a deal with the Raptors. He did say the Rockets made a pitch to him, but he didn't know the exact details of Houston's offer.

All I know is, I would not want to be the team paying Antonio Davis, who has never averaged 15 ppg, $12 million when he's 38.

He would've been a nice addition, but gimme a break.

I guess this means that Dream is gone. He'll definitely expect to get his $10 mill or more now. When will the madness end?

I think that Vince Carter probably had something to do with his resigning. Its amazing what friends can do to convince a guy, thats why I was shocked to hear that the Kings traded Williams because he is tight with Webber. I do not think Webber will resign in Sacramento, and I don't think he'll be in Houston, I don't think Robinson will be either, I think Orlando will get Jackson, Miller, or Mohammad, or 2 of the 3. I can possibly see Dream bolting. And then all of us REALLY ripping on Cato, because hes all we have left. I think I'm feeling a little pessimistic today.

It's no loss to teh Rox. Would be a good player, but not worth the dollars.

In reality, we had very little chance of getting him anyway. It was either Orlando or Toronto.
