While Morey has suggested that help will come from within the team, I do think that he will make a move to bulk up in the frontcourt fairly soon. Scola and Landry can get it done for now, but veteran experience come playoff time will be extremely valuable. With that said, and after reading other reports, I think the Rockets should and will take a look at Walker. (I'm assuming he will be bought out or already has) Now, before you all flame me because of Walker's age and 3 point shoot mishaps, I think it's important that the Rockets sign a vet with scoring potential. With Tmac soon to be triple teamed every night, we'll need a veteran forward who knows how to score the ball, and get the calls. Toine' used to be a really good player, and I think he could fit into some sort of role in Houston. PJ Brown would be valuable as well, but I don't think he is a scoring threat as much as Walker can be, if his three point shot attempts are limited. Alright, I took the risk. Flame me. I love all of you Rocket fans by the way. Cod
IMO PJ would be a much much better fit then Antoine. Our strength is our defense and as we all know, Toine would have troubles defending a block of wood at this point. What he would give us on offense would not offset his defensive drawbacks. PJ however has always been a decent defender who can get u some hoops around the basket. I wouldn't mind if he came in to back up Scola/Landry.
P.J. Brown would be nice to have, especially if he was at last year's level and still able to can that 15-18 footer. However, that is real iffy since he hasn't played a single minute this season.
I'm not kidding...just a fan analyzing what moves the Rockets might make and why. I look back on Antoine with the Heat when they won it all. He had a very minimal role, but found valuable ways to contribute. I'd be happy with PJ Brown as well, though.
I hope you get flamed big time for this thread! Antoine Walker is in my opinion one of the most overrated, horrid basketball players to ever grace the NBA. I have never liked him nor understood why he would even be wanted. I hate his me-first attitude, his horrible shooting, his lack of defense, he is even worse than Rafer in every aspect of the game. God, please don't allow this to happen to this team! Antoine Walker is only a legend in his own mind--definently wouldn't be a good fit with the Rockets. Worst suggestion I've ever seen on the BBS.
Walker was not as good as he is now, but to be honest he will not contribute to this team. We are playing a fast pase of basketball.
Wow, how can the thread starter have member status? If you know anything about basketball, then you wouldn't mention 'A. Walker" and "low-post presence" or "defense" in the same sentence. Just shut this thread down already.
