Grizz fans are hoping beyond hope that Yao hits the rookie wall before the Rocket guards give him the ball more.

    Just tank baby.

P.S. We will take Mobely if you agree to take Dickerson back. He is healthy....I promise:D

Swap Gasol for Griffin, and you've got a deal, Memphis X. We'd have to add salary to make it work though.

Of course, we would parlay Gasol into Elton Brand, if not immediately, during the offseason. Just my very own HO.

OP indicated that it was unlikely though.

I thought that was what the Pistons were saying to the Grizzlies.

Like they used to say in that old Mike Tyson boxing game, "Body blow, body blow, he's down for the count!!"

Funny...I just remembered Memphis X sig....

Memphis X, question for you...do the Grizz fans embrace Gasol? If not, why? I have league pass, but don't get to watch Gasol much (job and kids). I read on the Grizz sight a fan poll related to "who are you most looking forward to watching during the All star festivities? Gasol finished dead last of the Grizz participants, with like 3% fan votes. What gives? Is he likeable?

Don't worry Memphis X, I'm sure given the Rox recent struggles there have been some sig. changes that have gone unnoticed.

Grizz fans have no problems with Gasols development. A legit back to the basket low post threat that can score with both hands and hit the 12-15ft jumper is hard to come by especially with ball skills.

Now Gooden is another story. Hopefully experience will improve his shot selection and dislike of the assist.

On giving the pick to Detroit..It only hurts if its #2 or #3 other than that its no big deal.

I will be the first to say that losing streaks of 13 and 9 games were not expected and are disappointing but we have the 3rd most games lost to injuries and with our youth and lack of depth it has taken its toll.

J Williams is also regressing

All in all this season is a bust unless we win 30 games:rolleyes:

I really wish it wasn't the Rockets I had to wish failure upon but you guys understand...it's business never personal:cool:

maybe his team has nothing to talk about. besides getting jerry west, the grizzlies is a sorry franchise and is not going to make the playoff again.

Grizzlies must realize that they need a C and a swingman. Gasol will never be a C, and Gooden will always dislike the assist. You can see it.

You guys should deal Gooden before this whole rep gets out, for a SF. Then look for a C in the offseason. Hey, maybe we'll give you Cato.

One question. How would grizz fans react to a Cato and Mobley for Gasol and contract swap? What if the contract we're talking about is Dickerson?

I mean, if you believe Gooden will be great, and Swift can be his backup, why not solidify 2 other positions? Cato leads the league in rebounds/minute and Mobley is Mobley. You know Mobley, scores, defends, does anything you want him to do, improves every season. Better than anything you have at the 2. Well?

dickerson would be great for the rox; he's a good outside shooter.

gooden never passes the ball. he's like yinka dare, who has 1 assist in 3 years. lol

the Grizzlies will have a nice team next year if they got the 1 or two pick.
Gasol and Good teamed with LeBron or Milicik is nice. Also throw in Jason Williams and the others. Jerry West came in at the exact right time.

I think watching our record for Grizzlies draft pick purposes is somewhat dumb. Either the Rockets will be a 7 or 8 seed, which would put the pick somewhere between 14 and 20, or they'll just miss the playoffs, and almost 100% for sure be pick 13 - getting into the top 3 two years in a row, while not impossible, is highly unlikely. Granted, there is a big difference between 13 and 20, but at that point a lot of it is in scouting, etc. anyway.

It is a big difference because if you miss the playoffs we have more chances in Lotto Lebron.

No we WERE a sorry franchise. You guys have two All Star starters and are about a week from being on the outside of the playoff race. That is the definition of sorry.

Don't want to start a flame war but...:p

I've got to say that I'm kinda surprised about Gooden. I thought he and Butler were the best picks behind Yao - and I thought they would have a better 1st year than Yao.

    No flame war needed.....;)

The facts show that your team has had multiple top 3 picks almost every year and have yet to even get sniff of the playoffs in the franchise's history.

At least the Rockets have been to the playoffs and won 2 championships.

    :) :)

Is a GRIZZLIES fan really trying to talk smack? A fan of the never won more than 23 games in a season and never finished ahead of us in the standings Grizzlies calling US sorry?? The 8-22 against the Rockets in the regular season and 0-0 against us in the postseason because the Grizzlies have never even been CLOSE to making the playoffs Grizzlies? I might need to clean my monitor, because I know that a fan of the sorriest basketball franchise not called the Clippers wouldn't even THINK about trying to run smack around here...

think about Memphis...misery loves company...that is all. Even if he doesn't know it, it's not logical, it's psychology.
