While it is within their rights to speak their mind, I want to make sure I don't support any celebrity that doesn't support the US's stance. So please help me start a list. Dixie Chicks Beastie Boys John Meeloncamp Niel Young Please fill free to add to this list.
You're joking, right? If not, you might as well just take a stand to never go to the movies or buy a CD ever again.
There's probably one or two others. Terminator 3's coming out soon, although I'm not sure about Claire Dane's stance on the war, so that could be a no-go.
Furthermore, what the hell is Claire Danes doing in Terminator? Terminator 3: My So-called Attack of the Machines?
Hmm, a list. Hmmm, why does this sound so familiar? Damn, like something from over 50 years ago. Let's include Celebs who are against the US's official stance on things like the Kyoto Treaty as well.
I'm not real big on the whole starting a new thread every time a celebrity/artist speaks out about the war, so I'll just tack this on here. It's a song by Zack de la Rocha and DJ Shadow. I don't think I could possibly disagree with them anymore, but I can't help it, the song kicks ass. http://www.marchofdeath.com/
Let's start a thread where we list all the pro-war people who have never been in the military and who cheer everytime they see a bomb exploding on CNN. I think a lot of people must have missed the part in the Bill of Rights where it mentions some crazy stuff about the right to peacefully assemble, the right to freedom of speech, and other wacko commie pinko ideas. Oh wait, that stuff was written by the founders of this country but they really didn't mean any of that crap right? Just because someone hates an administration's policies doesn't make them anti-american otherwise half the conservative crackpots out there would have been deported during the clinton administration. I'm not pro-war and I'm not anti-war. I am, however, anti-anyone who believes that the bill of rights should only apply to people that agree with their philosophy.
I don't think anyone who posted in this thread believes that people shouldn't be able to peacefully assemble. You just tryin' to start sumpin'?
Back on topic. If you don't wanna contribute to the thread starter's topic then move along. F4ck me you people kill me sometimes. Some for your list: Susan Sarandon The Dixie Chunk Ed Norton Martin Sheen Jessica Lange Barbra Streisand Tim Robbins Janeane Garofolo Nick Van Exel Steve Nash Sheryl Crow By the way there is a growing list of Pro-Bush celebrities whose movies and music you can allow yourself to see and hear: Kid Rock Bruce Willis Arnold Sylvester Stallone Mel Gibson Fred Thompson Jean Claude Van Damme Dennis Miller Sir Charles Barkley That's all I can think of right now. If I think of any more I willedit if it lets me.
Mrs. JB...you are aware that in the current climate pointing out anything which might be construed as infering that you have now, or at some time in the past, been given pause to consider the possibility that it might be worth further thought with regards to the remote possibility that the current administration is anything but bang on in it's assessment of the Iraq situation, and that everyone who disagrees is thereby autmotatically wrong, wrong, wrong..and/or French might lead some to believe that such thinking-for-yourself is distinctly un-American, non-Patriotic, and a betrayal of everyone from Paul Revere through Daniel Boone on up...excepting those nascent pinkos who rambled on about challenging the authority of the government such as Thomas Jefferson, and Oliver Wendell Holmes...Now I know that you didn't directly do any such thing, but your pointing out of a certain demographic for the celebs above could be thought to be negative in nature, and would be heavily frowned upon...Just a thought.
If you really want a website about stuff like this try here . I like to check it every once in a while for a laugh or 2.
Hmm so you can listen to that 'Picture' song when Kid Rock is singing but then you'll have to turn it off when Sheryl Crow sings.
