RT @bergenadamek: ARandolph on being benched: “I have no choice. I have to deal with it.” Confident he'll get another chance? "No." For all those wanting Randolph this appears to be the time, Knicks are winning without him and it appears he isn't happy with his benching.
Yep with one team you can let it past...with another team? <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/eKgPY1adc0A?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/eKgPY1adc0A?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
Agreed. Agreed. He's got so much talent, you can't help but want to roll the dice with him and see if he'll break out with you. People were saying the same thing about Beasley.. and now he's actually making Kahn look smart, a feat that I once thought was impossible. Also, he's played in essentially two identical offensive systems with similar coaching styles. I wonder how he would do in a more disciplined setting. I would be interested depending on the price tag.. as in, I would think that his trade value has been severely diminished.
Are you basing your conclusion that he's unhappy with the Knicks on this quote? Because I'm not reading between the lines as much as seem to be.
Pretty much, he was asked about his benching and he said he "had no choice" and "had to deal with it" then asked if he thought he would be back in the rotation and he said "NO". Players are NEVER happy when benched but using the phrases he used and then not expecting to be reinserted into the rotation along with his previous time in GS...I'd say he is pretty upset.
Randolph has now played for Don Nelson and for Mike D'Antoni. Nelson is not without merits but his small ball revolutionary blah blah blah coaching style was only good for the Warriors' 6-game playoffs pimp-slap of the Dallas Mavericks a few years back (for which I do thank him). Otherwise he's just stubborn and pompous and has no use for players who (a) play any defense or (b) are taller than 6'7". Mike D'Antoni? Love to watch him blame others for his failings as a coach. Loved hearing him failing to tapdance correctly when he said into the microphones that "I only play talented rookies", and here we see Jordan Hill actually has some talent. So it's tough to say just what Anthony Randolph will be until he's with a coach who might play him, a tough-love-uncle type of coach who will calm him down and wake him up at the same time: "Don't jack around. We'll put in the time with you. Do what we say, keep doing what we say. You have a ton of talent, but you have to work at it. YOU HAVE TO WORK AT IT. So what do you say? You want to be Kevin Garnett? Or you want to be out of the league?"
I wouldnt give but a 2rd and cash consideration for the guy at this point.....what has he shown this year that would make any GM in his right mind give up or send back 1rd picks?? Some will cry he has potential and all that BS, but potential (unless we are looking at a draft bored) means nothing when you have been in the league over 2years now......I like the kid but think if the Rox want him they dont need to part with too much...........IT IS WRITTEN. For those wanting to put Pat P at the 3 (for whatever crazy reason) , imagine a backup lineup of ; Lowry-PG Bud-SG PatP- SF Randolph- PF Hill-C A lineup full of upside but alot of questions still. It would be nice to see them play defense and kill on the boards as the grow up together in the league...
He hasn't palyted for a good coach. Bring him over to the Rockets and he will flouriosh here. Return JJ back to knicks and we've got a deal.
http://blogs.mercurynews.com/kawaka...wakami-merc (Talking Points with Tim Kawakami) "The loose figures I heard: Duffy is mentioning 5 years, $60M or more, given Randolph’s size and unique skill set, and Duffy is saying that’s the money they want whether or not the Warriors get around to playing Randolph regularly by then." Um...no A player still on his rookie contract and already has a bad attitude, and from what I've seen, low basketball I.Q Maybe for a reserve role, but he definitely wont be making the money he believes he'll get...will he be happy having to settle for $5-$6 mil/year? Will he even get that?
He has played for a couple of questionable coaches, but last game I saw him play was against the Rockets, and I was smh the whole time he was playing...what in the world was he doing? Airballs, and very silly shot selections. He's still very young though, so I dunno.
Would the Knicks trade AR for a 2012 first round draft pick, if that pick may be somewhere between, say, 12-20?
Talented? He's tall and he can jump, we have had dozens of guys come through the league with that talent. You have got to have some kind of IQ and be able to shoot. His shot is so inconsistent and he forces too many shots. I don't see how he can complain about his playing time, unlike his rep for not playing rookies, D'Antoni will play you if you can produce. He is starting a rookie at SG and is playing Williams over Randolph based on how well he has done in practice. Guys around here are mezmerized by him but to me he is Gerald Green all over again.
When he plays over 30 minutes in a game he averages something like 25-15-3-3. I'd say he is pretty talented...
