interesting how all yao is quoted as saying in the article is "it's still unknown" and that somehow means he's open to joining the cavs.

big z is like a poor mans Yao ming. I don't think I would want him first over someone like Amare, Wade, or even Bosh. I hope so... atleast.

I guess "open" means that he didn't reject the notion outright. Lebron James, therefore, is "open" to becoming a Rocket in 2010.

Yao and Lebron would be absolutely sick together. Yao actually commands a double team, unlike Z.

...I was just arguing with a guy on Full Tilt about this subject. According to him, a lot of Cleveland fans think a Yao deal is as good as done.

What if the superior player, LeBron, has no interest in playing with a slow, over 30, injury-prone Yao?

What if Yao commits to the Cavs then LeBron bolts for some other team and the Cavs end up sucking worse than any Rockets team Yao played for previously?

    Those are possiblities, too, right?

It also said that he has strong feelings for the Rockets, and they are all bosses
whether Chinese or American. If we make big gains, there won't be much incentive for Yao to leave Houston. Cleveland lost in the Eastern Conference finals. If they struggle,he won't join them IMO. I don't think he is ready to become an X-factor for them.

Yao Ming + LeBron James + Cavs' supporting cast = Automatic Eastern Conference Champions every year for as long as they are together.

I know this is a Rockets' fan site, but imagine the lineup of:

    Mo Williams
    Delonte West
    LeBron James
    Z. Ilgauskas / Anderson Varejao
    Yao Ming

 It would be sick! Z can shoot the ball more consistently from 12-15 feet away, so Yao is free to dominate the post, while dishing to a cutting LeBron for the humungo slam.

    Chills...

Yea except our supporting cast is ten times better than Clevelands. Yao + Lebron + Rockets supporting cast = automatic NBA champions every year.

Can you imagine a lineup of:

    Aaron Brooks / Lowry
    Ron Artest / Wafer
    Lebron James / Battier
    Luis Scola / Landry
    Yao Ming

Yeah, but Yao to Cleveland is WAYY more probable than LeBron coming here.

I'm not worried about this. We've got the best GM in the league. If Yao leaves, we'll simply retool and move on.
