That's interesting. Does this mean they will be interested in a swing player? or perhaps trading down?

Total salary dump by the Spurs. Not really sure why the Raptors would pull the trigger on this deal, however. Didn't they just get rid of a big stiff center not that long ago?

I'm guessing the Bobcats are gonna trade #3 & Knight for #1 pick and Alvin Williams...we draft Bargnani at #3.

Why trade for Alvin Williams? He's played one game the last two seasons and has had serious knee surgery... especially for Knight, who has played very well the last two seasons. I don't think the #1 pick is worth that much over the #3, and the Bobcats would be foolish to do this trade.

I remember Yao was compared to Rasho a couple years ago. People here with some high post counts thought Yao is no better than Rasho.

Nesterovic isn't great, but he can play center passably for 15-20 minutes a night. That's 15-20 minutes where Chris Bosh doesn't have to guard or be guarded by the other team's biggest player. That will help him a lot.

Toronto is paying a lot for that 15-20 minutes, but Toronto doesn't exactly have to beat off free agents with a stick.

Williams will be a nice role player for San Antonio.

Why would the Raptors want Rasho? He's been in Pop's doghouse from day 1.

Rasho was halfway competent for the T-Wolves - better than the stiffs they've been trotting out since he left, like Olowokandi and Ervin Johnson

Not to mention people with low post counts, post counts right about in the middle, and post counts that could go either way.

I should add that some people (myself and probably Pop included) think Rasho became a dud because of the guaranteed money on his contract. It's all in Rasho, not Pop. If we are right, don't expect him to show a pulse until 08/09.

I was under the impression Nazr Mohhamed was a free agent. Guess I was wrong?

You are actually correct. Nazr turned down a lucrative extension with the Spurs before the season started. Dumb da dumb dumb mistake for him.

Pop has been trying to dump Rasho for a while. He was the only real deadweight contract they had. Now that Rasho is gone, maybe Nazr will re-sign for cheap.

Wow.. and the Spurs just got even better  actually i'm not that surprised. Who is that doochebag of a GM they got up there anyways? I forget but isn't he famous for making dumb trades?

that 2nd rounder in 2009 will probably still be VERY VALUABLE

I cant believe it. If Spurs can trade away Rasho Nesterovic, I hope CD is able to trade Juwan Howard who may have bigger contract but at least he is more productive than Rasho!!
