It's about that time to start counting down to the end of another school year. Even though this is my 17th year in education, it was my first year teaching freshmen English on a brand new freshman campus, and what a great year it has been! My freshman basketball team went 21-2, were district champions and tournament champions. 100% of my students passed the 9th grade reading TAKS. My evaluation was an "exceeds expectations" I'll be glad when this year is over, but this is definitely one for the books! 8 DAYS LEFT!!!
Cleverly disguised "in one month I'll be posting about all the fun things I'm doing while you continue to slave away" thread.
Actually, I'll start now. Now that I have a 4x4, a kayak, and a Baymaster 17, I will be doing a lot more fishing in the lower laguna madre! I'm also taking the family to Colorado, and might head out to Vegas. Of course, this is all after I help out at our annual basketball camp. Oh, and I just sold my sports forum for a cool 10k.
Succesful? Ironic. I am disappointed you didn't mention any MUSTANG in your reply about your diversions, sir.
Congrats FT !!!! Well done on your entire year. I do want to ask though, what do you think about the Taks test as a teaching tool? I have heard a lot of discussion about teaching to the test etc.... Do you think it is beneficial, doesn't matter, or harmful, overall? DD
Congrats, Falcons! Yeah, the TAKS tests were a joke. So easy to get commended on all of the subjects.
