With yesterday's performance, Harden bumped up his TS% to above .600. He is now one of three players in the NBA this season to have a usage% higher than 28.0 while maintaining the TS% above .600. The other two? Lebron James and Kevin Durant. That's it, just those two. Remarkable. Historically since usage% has been tracked, this kind of balance of ultra efficiency and high usage happened only 26 times by 15 different players and it's an impressive list: Michael Jordan (4x) Adrian Dantley (3x) Lebron James (2x) Kevin Durant (2x) Shaquille O'Neal (2x) Karl Malone (2x) Dirk Nowitzki (2x) Amare Stoudemire (2x) Charles Barkley (1x) Larry Bird (1x) David Robinson (1x) Bernard King (1x) Kevin Martin (1x) Manu Ginobili (1x) Walter Davis (1x) If he can keep this up for the whole season, he will be joining some really elite company.
Well, he certainly is playing well. If the Rockets can have 2 or 3 other players step up every game and be actual offensive threats they will be a tough match up for any team in the league.
he is so no nonsense. no flash. they can't stop the first step keep going, they stop it make the pass. i'm mancrushing on this guy he's freakin ridiculous.
What is funny is for his whole life since high school, he's been a reluctant shooter because he has wanted to involve his teammates. Anyone calling him a ball hog is #%^^*.
Not sure why this thread has a 2 star rating. Praising a rare statistical achievement for the Rockets best player since Yao Ming, who is a very likeable guy? I guess it's jealous Lin fans?
News flash, Kevin Martin when fully healthy is a really good second/third option type. Especially back when the foul rules were more conducive to his game. Even now he's still a great scorer when he's guarded 1 on 1, long as he doesn't have an elite defender on him.
You serious? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Davis_(basketball) Former face of the franchise for Phoenix, played mainly in the 80s, six time all star, rookie of the year, six seasons over 20ppg
What make James Harden a better well rounded player than Tmac is because of his efficiency and ability to get to the hole. Though Tmac was a great scorer and an amazing gifted talent, he settles for contested mid range jump shots way too much, especially in the playoffs when the Rockets need a bucket and Tmac is launching away mid range jumpers. Harden is a great young player and I am happy the Rockets got him.
Hey, stop it. I am as big a Lin fan as it comes and I voted 4. So don't blame everything on Lin fans. However, this thread can use something, and is similar to the Gilbert Arena thread.
Because he's already done it twice and is currently on pace to become the most efficient high volume scorer ever.
