    Houston trades:

PG Steve Francis (16.6 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 6.2 apg in 40.4 minutes)
    C Kelvin Cato (6.1 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 1.0 apg in 25.3 minutes)
SG Cuttino Mobley (15.8 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 3.2 apg in 40.4 minutes)

    Houston receives:

    C Jamaal Magloire (13.7 ppg, 10.3 rpg, 1.1 apg in 82 games)
SG David Wesley (13.9 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 2.9 apg in 61 games)
SG Tracy McGrady (28.0 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 5.5 apg in 67 games)
PF Drew Gooden (11.6 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 1.1 apg in 79 games)
PG Tyronn Lue (10.5 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 4.2 apg in 76 games)

Change in team outlook: +39.2 ppg, +10.7 rpg, and +4.4 apg.

    Orlando trades:

SG Tracy McGrady (28.0 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 5.5 apg in 39.9 minutes)
PF Drew Gooden (11.6 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 1.1 apg in 27.0 minutes)
PG Tyronn Lue (10.5 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 4.2 apg in 30.7 minutes)

    Orlando receives:

PG Steve Francis (16.6 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 6.2 apg in 79 games)
    C Kelvin Cato (6.1 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 1.0 apg in 69 games)

Change in team outlook: -27.4 ppg, -2.7 rpg, and -3.6 apg.

    New Orleans trades:

    C Jamaal Magloire (13.7 ppg, 10.3 rpg, 1.1 apg in 33.9 minutes)
SG David Wesley (13.9 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 2.9 apg in 32.8 minutes)

    New Orleans receives:

SG Cuttino Mobley (15.8 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 3.2 apg in 40.4 minutes)

Change in team outlook: -11.8 ppg, -8.0 rpg, and -0.8 apg.

Why the Rockets do it: We get major upgrades at the 2, 4, and backup 5, a serviceable PG, and players whose game should fit well with that of Yao.

Why the Magic do it: They were going to lose T-Mac. They get a replacement star-quality athletic talent in Francis, and a good center (at least for the eastern conference) in Cato.

Why the Hornets do it: They upgrade and get younger at the 2. They probably have to get a draft pick in the deal to want to do it.

    Rockets post-trade:

    Yao/Magloire
    Gooden/Taylor/Spoon
    McGrady/Nachbar
    JJ/Wesley/Pike
    Lue/FA

That is more than silly. Why we don't just ask the NBA to hand over the trophy to us??

I think we should trade Steve for Jason Kidd, Cat for McGrady, Jim Jackson for Dirk Nowitzki, Mo Taylor for Tim Duncan and Cato for Shaq to give us some depth at center.

Those are some crazy stats. That would put us at averaging, what, a 120 points a game? GOOD TRADE.

Yes only if there would be enough shots to go around.

I don't see why the Rockets would do this deal, but New Orleans is probably foaming at the mouth just thinking about the possibilities.

    Ok....

    The REAL question is...

If you KNOW it's silly, as stated in your title, then why propose it?
