big debate here from the knuckleheads on Austin radio. Rickey had said that he was in Babes class (don't know the context), and some of those guys agreed. Only Hogan disagreed. They basically said anyone in the hall of fame was in BAbe's class. Nope. ------------------ "norm, would you like to buy an indian scalp ? Rickey Henderson is one of the greatest players ever. I don't like him, but the guy has amassed some serious numbers from the leadoff position. He's been pretty consistent over the long haul and he played in an era when HR's weren't an everyday thing. In the time he played, he was feared. I wouldn't put him near Babe Ruth who changed the game, but he's pretty damn good. ------------------ humble, but hungry.
I think he said it was nice to have the record and be 'in that class' then he said his primary concern was winning. He meant being in that class as far as the record books are concerned. ------------------
